How do we all feel BOOF is bowling this morning already had an over
MARSH out 76
TAS 8/238

What can we expect today a SA declaration setting TA say 200 of 100 overs :?: :?:

We all know anything is possible......

Not doubting Boof, just wondering whether perhaps he's trying to prepare the lads for when he's not around anymore ... Personally I'd think it needs to be a 50/50 type thing ... Give them extra opportunity where possible but sometimes say win at all costs

LUNCH
TA 8/254
DREW 20*
GRIFFITH 18*
98 OVERS ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
BOOF 2 OVERS 2 MAIDENS 0/0 whatta bowler

Great session for Twoheadmania 1/58 slow but effective.
After lunch I guess we need to bowl HARRIS + BORGAS in tandem.

Typical Redbacks. We have let the Taswegians off the hook again. They put on 40 for the 9th wicket and for the 10th its currently a 30 run stand, Tassie are 9/291.

This is also interesting

Over 110.3: Strange tactics from the South Australians, Tait, one of the fastse bowlers going around at the moment, bowling to the Tigers' number 11, banging it in short and wide outside off with three men back hoping for a top edged cut shot!

What the hell is Boof thinking?? His tactics keep getting stranger this season.

Hey Mal - I was agreeing with you! Just trying to find an explanation for Lehamn's decision not to bowl himself... That's all!

S.A. 1/108 at stumps

Elliott 61 (124)
Borgas 18 (61)

The pitch must be shockingly slow for us to be scoring like that, we need quick runs and fast. I would have liked Boof to come in at number 3 and bash it around a bit.

SA 349
TA 305
SA 1/108 IN 42 OVERS

217 runs for the day zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
What an awful effort by our bowlers today to allow DREW, GRIFFITH + HILFENHAUS
to put on 109 runs today
We are 152 up + I hope BOOF sets the powerful TA battting line up a challenging total
of about 320 of 6O overs tomorrow.
ANYTHING LESS MIGHT BE GIFTING A GAME WE HAVE DOMINATED FOR 3 DAYS.
With all due respect if the TA tail and Elliott can make runs ......[only kidding Matty]
Good to see ELLIOTT amongst them, the steadying influence of DTM HARRIS
has assisted his form resurgence.
Dan the Man HARRIS had a very frustrating day, BOOF didnt bowl him and then the TAS
team found a weakness in the champs game HE WAS RUN OUT for 17 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still our boy DTM got past HILFENHAUS for the 2nd time this game.

BOOF at last bowled himself before the children today and finished with the respectable
figures of 11 overs 1/25
TAIT 31-5 OVERS 4/72 gave Brett Lee some more anxiety today.

If SA is serious about picking it's best side should Blewett not be there? I know he isn't in the best form but he has proven (just like Elliott) over the years what he is capable of. I get the feeling that because Elliott was a high profile recruit he is being given every chance possible whereas the equally credentialled Blewett is given the arse for the younger less credentialled players.

Elliott vs. Blewett - difference is the SACA worked hard to lure Elliott and don't want to seen to have picked up another dud ala Flower. Blewett is a local product who won't draw as much negative publicity by not playing.

If you drop Blewett for poor form Elliott should have gone at the same time. Elliott is now proving he can make runs at this level as form is temporary but class is permanent. For the sake of the SA side Blewett should have been given the same chance.

Im getting very very nervous

SA 5/218
71 OVERS
DIETZ 33*[55]
FERGUSON 35*[54]
HARRIS 17 run out
ELLIOTT 81 well done Matty back in form
BORGAS 19 can do better
COSGROVE 13 waiting waiting waiting
LEHMANN 4 a very rare failure

We were 5/156
HILFENHAUS 20 OVERS 2/55

The reason I am very very nervous is BOOF might declare shortly.
We lead by only 264 with about 65 overs left.

I think about 301 off 57 overs would be a reasonable declaration

COSGROVE

well he has a shite load of work to do

maybe just maybe if he put a bit more effort in to his fitness, confidence and form will follow

it's all about application and the right attitude

Sheer WEIGHT of runs are needed.
COSGROVE was a match winner last year and had a blinder.[similar weight S/DOG]
This year he gets starts but a lack of big scores.

FERGUSON is the one that intrigues me, Many starts but lack of big scores as well.

COSSY + FERGY are 1 big innings of domination at this level.

UPDATE
----------

SA 5/246
DIETZ 48*[67]
FERGY 44*[64]

LEAD 290 about 63 overs left
Both batsman scorely quickly , the declaration imminent.

DIETZ got a leading edge, the ball floats back to the bowler, who grabs the ball, goes
to throw it in the air in celebration but loses control of it NOT OUT
The bowler was my man Benny HILFENHAUS.
Herschell GIBBS will be proud of him.

Looks like about 301 off 61 overs at this stage
I prefer 315 off about 59 overs.

Mal

your knowledge of the game of cricket is a lot higher then mine

but I honestly believe weight of runs will not be good enough, for example

Cossy is competing with a lot of good young cricketers and if it is a line ball decision, I believe it will come down to fitness, and how much you want your spot and the work you are willing to put and the sacrafices you are willing to make to win your spot

my personal opinion is runs send one message to the selectors, but his conditioning sends another

cricket is no different to most professional sports, their is a greater focus on fitness and conditioning, these cricketers play basically 12 months a year, they play back to back test matches and in some tough conditions

Cossy needs to improve in this area or he will type cast himself as a one day player only

I cannot disagree SD yeah he is competing with players who are possibly fitter than him.
BUT, my point.
He looked about this fit last year and he dominated, so we cant blame his condition for a lack
of big scores this season.

SA 5/257
DIETZ 49*[70]
FERGY 53*[70]
Lead 301 about 62 overs left

S/D when should Boof declare :?:

I would give us 60 overs

the wicket seems slow and sticky and hard to score quickly off

early wickets would be the key to SA
