Engl 1/282

Cook 116*

Trott 44*

Be interesting to see what England do, they have stated they have come here to win every match, you would think that if that is the case there could be some attacking cricket 2morrow to get a big lead and set the Aussies a trotal to chase down

I hope people enjoy watching English batsmen making heaps of runs because that's pretty much what we will be seeing this summer. Our attack is popgun.

If the Poms get to 220-230 lead and throw us in, they'll win it.

Why not throw a youngster in with similar or better stats like O'Keefe.

Well said. Doherty has been a substandard 1st clas bowler for years, struggling to get a regular game at Shield level, has one good game against Victoria, then gets a couple in a one day game ... and scores a TEST cap!!! Give me strength. It may be a long summer.

I would have Harris in that side as well.

After watching Mitchell bowl on this pitch can you imagine what they will do to him in Adelaide

My son has done well with his (Cub's) XI. He was second after day three and that was before captain Strauss got a ton and he has Cook as well (and Haddin and Hussey!).

Doherty was picked selected on last 12 months. His stats didn't help when bowling as a youngster on the flatter pitch what you would get in a sub continent pitch. It his first match and all ready look more dangerous than hauritz.

Poms intention pretty clear when they accepted the light. But not sure the pitch has any demons in it and remember North will make runs to save himself. They will get a great deal out of a draw.

I think johnson needs will have to be dropped for next test as currently they are are bowling one bowler short. So, do they pick harris as he can hold a bat or go with bollinger or cameron and make a long tail. As well go out of the square marsh

Then what do you do with north??? If they drop him do you bring in white, ferguson, smith, khawaja or hughes and reshuffle order.

As an England supporter, I just love this comment made yesterday. Australian arrogance! ;)
There is a long way to go in this series and England are a far better unit than in 2006. I think they were very controlled during a hard day's play yesterday.

Bulls forever, you are incorrect in saying that England accepted the light. The call is totally up to the umpires. Even if England had wanted to stay out there (which I believe they did) the players don't get a say.

I actually said that not Bulls forever but I was relying on the net, unless rules have changed the batsman can say they want to continue and that happens

Got to be one eyed when you work with a bunch of poms who all bar one are mouthing off how they will win 5-0 and no test will go to 5th day.
The poms are a better side but they were rabble yesterday as we were today.
I would just say dont write us off yet. We are not doing bad for the worst aussie side ever as alot of poms would have us believe

Barring a special bowling spell (Siddle in innings 1, Finn killing the aussie lower order), neither side really has the bowling attack to take 20 wickets in a match.

I think all Tests will go to a fifth day, and results will be unlikely in most Tests.

Huss has saved his bacon, for the remainder of this series at least, but MJ needs to go back to state cricket and get his groove back (one good SS match means bugger all), and Marcus North needs to be replaced by Usman. Permanently.

1 down (Hauritz) 2 to go (North, Johnson).

I agree OKEEFE could be picked b4 DOHERTY, he is the superior batsman
BUT
Tell that to the NSW selectors who have selected SMITH/HAURITZ in thier SS team Vrs WA
Our man OKEEFE didnt even make the 12 !!!!
I assume he was not selected
