Could be wrong but I reckon it was compared during last years ashes and at Smiths age it was only Bradman and Ponting who had hit more test centuries at the same age. Smith may have jumped Ponting now with how many centuries he has hit in recent times

Ok so i compared Steve smith's career with Ponting up to the age 25.

Smith is 26 years and 45 days, so his would include a few extra test matches in WI and in ENG, but i thought this was a better comparison than giving ponting a full extra year.

Smith (includes his current not out score, was averaging 55.27 before the start of this test)

You beauty Smithy!!

Just the 3rd Australian to score a double hundred at Lords, the first since 1938.

Will he eclipse Don Bradman's 254?

Hope not, would love to see some of the Don's records stand

Records are made to be broken and regardless Bradman will always be far and away the best.

Runs scored before a players 27th Birthday, qualification 2000 runs, sorted by average.

Once again with Smith's current not out which could change his average a bit

Shows how well Joe Root is going too to be honest

I suspect one of Bradman's records in particular will stand.

Yeah, just something romantic about him having the highest score by an Aussie at Lords

Plus his shirt is nicely tucked into his pants, which seems to be important.
