I'll watch it again. But I certainly wasn't watching through rose-coloured glasses.

the 50 second mark.

I was a bit of a shocker on the field but I wouldn't have done that.

I initially thought he dropped it next to him which wasn't great but no biggy, landing it on him makes me think otherwise.

C'mon, mate.
It was cheeky, no doubt. Nothing more, nothing less.

Obviously not from a physical point of view but more the fact Lyon took an opportunity while an opponent was down and 'defenseless' to exert a further 'mental' advantage outside of the spirit of the game.

Having played cricket against a few SAFooty posters I'm not sure some of them would of acted as subdued as AB did after the event.

Watch AB go on a runfest for the rest of the series, that is how he will answer it ;)

Shit, went to bed after the 5th wicket, didn't expect that much of a fight from SA, did put $20 on SAF at $100's after the 4th wicket fell, anyone see what price SAF got in to during the big partnership? I've seen $3, going to bed cost me at least $500

This is Starcs value to the team, late reverse swing with the old ball.
Id love one of the stats gurus to find his stats of his dismissals of 1-6 or 7 and 7-11. Obviously the average will be better against the tail but the percentage of wickets in each category would be telling compared to other bowlers

Rabada gone Starc on a hatrick, youd fancy it against Morkel

this is Starc's and Hazlewood's statistics for each bowling position

Interestingly they both take about the same proportion of wickets from 7-11 - Starc 36.8%, Hazlewood 37.3%

You can see hazelwood is much more consistent through the middle of the innings, but they still have pretty similar overall averages, which tells me starc bowls a lot less through the middle overs - which makes sense as this is when the ball wouldnt swing as much so starc usually takes a break

the other thing that jumps out at you is that everyone thinks starc is most deadly against right handers swinging the ball in, but he has a much better average against left handers

I can relate to some degree, I loved bowling to right to handers so I could cramp them up or bowl continuous leg cutters then whip in the big innie, loved just peppering middle and off on an awkward length to the lefties with the slips and well and truly in the game.

Most lefties have just a natural ability to bowl big innies for some reason.

im also a lefty, albeit at slow medium pace, and i also bowl big innies as my standard ball - love shaping them in and then throwing the straighter wider one angling across, for them to snick up (days knows all about this :D )

Nup I'm a medium fast lefty that would angle away from the right hander and straighten off the seam. Hate bowling to left handed bats. Didn't learn properly to bowl the inswinger until I went to England in 2013. LBW rate in Australia has picked up since my Ashes tour.....

Like I said if I was skip I would have no issue if a few inclose fielders wizz the ball past Lyon when his next running between the wickets, wouldn't be to dissapointed if one accidently wrapped him on the hand

No we're not, we've got a high percentage of wankers per capita when you look at international cricket team over the last few years.

Sadly your right, I probably should have said I expect an Australian team to be better than that rather than we are.

We should have a Wanker 11, probz need to refine a since when.

Is Greg Matthews going to be coach or do we go that far back?

Healy certain starter.

I loved McGrath but he'd classify, could dish it out but didn't like it in return.

I might be a lone soldier on this one but I hated Brett Lee, he'd make a number 11 shit himself with a barrage of bouncers and then carry on with his Michael Jackson like antics once he finally got him out.

Watching him bowl to Peter Such at Adelaide Oval began my dislike for him.
