Mitchs batting is worse than his bowling!

Bat out the draw and move on to the next test!

I don't doubt that for a minute, I've seen many batsmen slog their way back into form. He is at his best when he's taking them on, he's not a defender.

I don't know and I don't really care, it was just worth a crack, there would've been nothing to lose. I agreed with you about his batting form, what more did you want?

I think there is a lot to lose! A first test Match at the gabba in the ashes!

And maybe a statement "coverking you are the best" will do ;)

If we're hinging our hopes on Mitch getting dismissed or not to save us we're in a bit of strife mate.

that was the disappointing thing in my view, it had been set up nicely for him by the Hussey/Haddin partnership and he came in and played like that, on saying that of course we dont know what instructions, if any he had been given by the skipper

Sort of, wouldn't want to see a batsman throw away his innings, what would Mitch have to lose, he'd have to be a certainty to get dropped for the first time in his international career.

and the ch 9 commentators were impressed with Johnsons innings, saying they thought he looked good out there compared to other previous innings

I wouldnt have thought he wouldve been given any instructions. the only instructions you can give to a bowler who slogs them with the bat - is to do what they do best and go out swinging

I mean he couldve made a quick 30-40 - possibly more once he got settled in or get out for a duck.

Maybe Mitch was hoping to stick around the crease for a while, get a few runs and hope his batting would save him from the axe
