Great game, that 20/20 garbage will never have the drama that Test cricket gives.

A shame the series is only for 3 matches.

That was the best cricket series i have ever seen that Australia has lost, The tests were played in the true spirit of the game with serious questions asked of each player, Graeme Smith really did show some serious aggots coming out to bat. Congratulations to both Aus and SAF on a magnificent display of cricket. bad luck to Haydos, Huss and Lee on their best efforts but no luck. :)

When things settle down and Smith watches a replay of how he got out he must think why didnt he get behind the ball that bowled him, to get bowled in that situation is disappointing.

I reckon it's a tough call as well. He might look at it and question his technique but he'd done his part by just going out there - saving the match would have been a bonus.
The bloke was gutsy getting out there.

Random thoughts:

1 My hero, Thiele, says FFS twice

2 Hauritz definitely not up to Test standard - no tricks at all.

3 Bollinger looks just a Shield bowler, but I'd like to see him once more before deciding.

4 Despite the result, that was the worst pitch I've seen for a long time. Not just the cracks, but it was just so slow. A ball pitching on middle stump and going for 4 wides just about sums it up.

5 A terrible deck to keep wickets on, but Boucher showed that Haddin isn't a Test keeper's .......

6 Ponting's captaincy without star bowlers looks totally unimaginative.

7 Thanks Matthew Hayden, but your only chance to continue now is to make a squillion in the one-dayers, if picked.

7 Test cricket leaves the other forms of the game for dead.

8 Well done, South Africa, but exciting times to see Australia regenerate.

Regards,

R & B.
