Khawaja
Renshaw
Smith
Green
Head
Webster
Carey
Starc
Lyon
Hazelwood
Boland

Don't you pick players that are in form?
3 hundreds by Laba surely would get him into the side?

Potentially.

Renshaw is also in form and is the opening partner of Khawaja so i think that tips things in his favour for the opening position.

Smith and Head are not being dropped no matter what.

Webster has arguably been our best batter the last 6 months

Green is the 'future' by the seems of it in the selectors minds.

So ultimately it will be either Webster or Green to make way for Labuschagne. You definitely could make a case for it.

I think Renshaw's chances of playing the first test are low - e.g. maybe I'd give it 10% at this stage - but obviously more runs in his remaining innings before the first test would help him.

Full day in the field and Pope only bowls 11 overs, very strange
