England trailing by over 300 on the 1st Innings, in walks Pieterson. 5 balls and 13 runs later (3 fours), he's out. Not quite the approach required in the circumstances. If only he had the temperament to match his immense talent.

Plenty of concerns for England, one of them is having Stuart Broad as your top scorer.

stuart broad is a pretty decent bat, he topped leicestershires batting averages last season and has consistantly made runs since coming into the test team

Has batted thrice in this series with two half centuries.
Has a batting average in his 8 test career of 41.22 (only 26.60 in First Class cricket though)

The only problem is when he gets the ball in his hand. Not good. Might be better picking him as a batsmen.

You dont rate the bowling average hovering just below 50 ?? or a strike rate pushing 100 ??

South Africa will be without Dale Steyn for the Third Test after he was ruled out with a fractured thumb. He might be fit for the Fifth Test. Andre Nel or Monde Zondeki are the possible replacements.

Fallout and critisism continues from the selection of Darren Pattinson with Simon Jones adding his two cents, to those of Vaughn and Hoggard.
I was a bit disappointed with the last Test, with the selections," Jones told the South Wales Echo. "They obviously chose him [Pattinson] because they thought he was the right man for the job but I'm sure a few bowlers around England were a bit disappointed."

Steve Harmison has been recalled by England for the third Test against South Africa at Edgbaston on Wednesday. In a 13-man squad, England have dropped Darren Pattinson - whose debut in the second Test at Headingley was fraught with controversy - but they retain Paul Collingwood who missed out on the XI at Leeds.
England also welcome back Ryan Sidebottom, their most potent weapon since his revelatory international comeback last season, who missed the second Test owing to his back injury

Sidebottom is a big in. Missed him in the second test. Harmison, well when hes on hes good. But when hes off he cant hit the pitch ;). I would have thought Pattinson wasnt actually bad in the second test. Fair enough though.

Both South Africa and Bangladesh A are touring England at the moment, so for some reason they have been scheduled to playe each other.
