Mal's man dropped a regulation chance from Klinger on 0.

While his batting has been much improved this year his keeping is still a major let down which is his most important role in this side.

At least he is still out there. The longer he bats, the quicker he scores.

good tactics by SA
score at 2 an over
use up time
make WA inevitably set us a toal of 371 off 88 overs day 4

RONCHI man of the match
0 RUNS
dropped Klinger on 0

Klinger has been dropped on 0 2 games in a row
And by Mals mates RONCHI and HODGEY

Heard at the oval today
MANOU has requested the games start at 11-00 not 10-30
Request granted

Sounds like a regulation hangover after a big win at the MCG (mode of match does not matter, of course)

I think it goes further than that Spelly, I said at the time that the loss to Victoria in the recent Shield game may have an adverse effect on the players in terms of confidence, and this may result in some disappointing perfromances. We lost more than 6 points in that match.

AH, I think there's a fair chance that WA will declare its second innings in this game to set a target.

Declarations are part and parcel of these games now. The reward of 6 points instead of 2 is worth the risk.

So true
Too often a dominating team does not have the playing time to mentally disintigrate its opposition

They might as well roll up on day 1
Look at the pitch
Devise a fair target
Agree to a target of say 389 off 90 overs
Then toss a coin to see who bats and bowls
All over in the day
3 days extra rest for the bowlers ...

Yep, but you can guarantee WA won't give a soft declaration like SA hands out. They'll give us something we'll have to work our rings off to get.
