I have not made a sweping prediction for a while , and here goes
He has only played a handful of Limited overs stuff and SS games
Looks a dead set Test Cricketer the way he bats
I'm tipping The Australian selectors will get sick of under achieving top order left handers and promote this sliky smooth right hander

Geez Clarke looked ordinary...doesnt like the short one at all and all quicks know it. Wide on the crease and angle it at him. Doesnt get back and across, just slightly back and back with his weight biased on the front foot. Bunny in the spotty unless he changes his technique.
Dont get me wrong he is an awesome bat...if you let him get set.

Agree.

Just looked him up and we could do alot worse.

Average 41 at first class level in his first ten innings.

Hit 2 100's and 1 50 on the very difficult Hobart wicket last year.

Would be helped by the fact he would open with a the first class experience of Chris Rogers.

Only 21 years old.

Though he is New South Wales born lol.

Surely Haddin is safe in the number 7 spot.

Added to Smith to the lineup.

The one thing that has really surprised me with him is that he is one of the very few Aussie batsmen (Rogers excluded) who is able/willing to go through a rough trot in a innings and grind his way through a tough period and then score freely later on.

Watson, Warner, Haddin and even Clarke recently either come out and smash the ball around from ball 1 and make a big score or struggle from the get go and end up succumbing cheaply

Haddin has only got past 10 runs (one of them was 13) in

3 out of his last 8 innings

Far from setting the world on fire.

One good innings doesn't make it all better, do it on a consistant basis and i will be impressed.

When we have made half decent scores this series, its come off the back of one good innings; Agar first test, Clarke the other test and Rogers more recently. Would love to see a big partnership and grind everything out of there bowlers, but hey, its an improvement but im not sold.

We will still find a way to lose no doubt, apparently we didn't even really care about winning the series in England, just wanted to be competitive over there and then win the home series here.

Cricinfo wrote:87.1 Broad to Watson, OUT, bouncer, another fierce lifter and hooked powerfully, out towards deep backward square... where Kevin Pietersen dives to take a quite brilliant catch! Broad has winkled out Watto - although only by a few millimetres of rubber after they check on the no-ball - and a superb innings comes to an end. It's not a double but definitely a daddy and Watson can walk off plenty satisfied. He's played the short ball well but just couldn't quite keep the shot down this time

SR Watson c Pietersen b Broad 176 (339m 247b 25x4 1x6) SR: 71.25
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!
