Yep, we're batting first. Took me by surprise, now doesn't look like it's as bowler friendly as it was described but time will tell.
Last 20 tests at this venue
team batting first only one twice with 13 draws

Its always going to seam but get through that and cash in.
Felt for the slippers at 17 degrees and edges flying everywhere.
Agree on warnes commentary. It is becoming ordinary.
What's worse is now we have to put up with slater!

Warney should go and commentate domestic cricket in the Caribbean or something. From a King to a Jack.

Smith might be the best batsmen in the world at the moment, but that doesn't mean he's suited to no 3 - Clarke and Smith need to be 4 and 5, one way or the other.

Smith is ok at three leave him there. Anyone can nick a ball in the top order. Chopping and changing has gotten us nowhere. The Lords test wasn't an aberration, it was just a flatter pitch. Clarke is done pure and simple and is on his last legs. So who goes to three? LB Watson? Nick Marsh? No way Jose. Stick with Smith but can't believe I'm saying this Nick Marsh in for Voges who closes the face far too much to be effective in English conditions.

Jury is still out on Voges at international level and age isnt on his side. Marsh boys bodies are suspect and Mitch Johnson is on the wrong side of 30 for a pace bowler.
Australia A has the following bats playing currently: Burns, Khuwaja, Bancroft, Hanscomb, Head, Ferguson - Which one of these is next in line to take Clarkes No 4 spot and Rogers opening spot?
