The Selectors will be happy with themselves to have brought Dizzy back into the side. He is so solid.

Haha;

105.6 Shahadat Hossain to Ponting, no run, short delivery, Ponting pulls it to square leg, cannot get it through.
Aggression shown by Shahadat Hossain
105.5 Shahadat Hossain to Ponting, no run, sends down a short one, Ponting takes his eye off the ball, gets hit on the helmet.

Man of the Match?

MacGill
Gilly
Punter

I think I'd vote for Gilly.

Only Australia could win a Test Match after playing shocking cricket for the first 2 days. Well done Aussies, and well done Bangladesh for making it an exciting competition.

Its ironical that the variable that saved "Ponting the Captain" huge embarassment ("Bangladesh not up to test standard") was "Ponting the Batsman". He may not be one of our best captains ever but as a batsman, he'd be getting close to the best since Bradman.

I hope in future if theyre going to bat Gilchrist at 6 that they give more thought about who bats at 7. Warne not a good option there at all, doesnt value his wicket enough. Brett Lee so much more suited, is almost an allrounder these days.

Agreed, Lee and Gillespie must both bat ahead of Warne. Not sure how someone who is so smart with the ball in his hand can be so dumb with the bat in his hand.

The reason why Bangladesh lost this match is simple - Belief. They didn't have it. On the third day you could tell they stopped believing even then. They allowed the game to drift when they did not take the new ball after tea and Australia pocketed about 50 golden runs. Late in the game they recaptured that belief but they had made the fatal mistake of giving Australia a sniff of victory.

BTW..that Ponting dropped catch was hardly lucky Diss, it was a tough chance diving forward which would have been a beauty if he had managed to hold on it.

I agree REB - watching the highlights later it was really a 1/4 chance but we deserved a little break after some less than convincing decisions given against us. Shane Warnes LBW - seriously...enough said we won.
