Anyone got any info on Southee? I've never heard of him?

Southee is a youg bloke only just came into the NZ team but been through there junior system. He took 5 on debut and made 77 at no. 9 including 9 sixes in the seocnd innings of his first game i believe.

Good prospect for them and may bring some life to this test series.

Clarke not looking comfortable. Edged one through slips for 4, it just didn't carry. And just put one at catching height between gully and point.

Clarke flashes at a ball with just a hint of away swing and edges it wide of the slips for 4.

some gold from Foxsports commentary -

1230: Ouch! Hussey takes one to the baby maker, makes for a good replay but that has to smart. Follows up with a couple of runs off the next ball, that's the way Huss, run it off.

The southee I know is holidaying in the US at present and regularly contributes posts of extreme disappointment on this site during the SANFL season!

Rudi strikes again! Hussey out to an interesting LBW decision.
So much for benefit of the doubt.

DB - no shot offered makes it hard to give the benefit of the doubt.

I realise that, but still the ball moved along way and he was well outside off stump.

There is no way Rudi could have been 100% certain the ball was going to hit the stumps so it shouldn't have been given IMHO. Sure he wasn't playing a shot but the umpire still needs to be certain the ball is going to hit the stumps. Rudi caught guessing again
