Was making Head captain an Adcock move?

Difference his Travis is also picked on his batting ability not just captaining......

Played for Australia this summer, Signed for Yorkshire for all formats for half a season and is still only 22 years old. It will come.

An ability we've yet to see earn a spot in the side with runs. Adcock had a superb year the year before he was made captain didn't he? In fact I recall the Aussie selectors were looking at him seriously for higher honours. There is no doubt at all that making Head captain was a backwards step for his development. However, what other option for captain was there?

Really no other options for captains at the Redbacks - we really lack a mature player/leader.. just need to look at the impact Hodge had on the Strikers.

Klinger/Botha were both ideal but we all know they're gone now..

In other news.. Lehmann closing in on his 3rd 100 for the season.. and Carey his first FC 50

The year prior to being named captain Adcock scored 324 runs at 46.28 (without scoring a ton).

It was then and remains a bizarre decision.

There was also a bizarre story going around that he was a chance for an all-rounders spot in the 2007 World Cup. Naturally nothing came from this delusion.

Lehmann and Carey looking good at Coffs Harbour (no jinx plz)

It's refreshing to finally have a keeper who can bat in the side.

Going to sh1t now. Be nice if someone could hang with Jakey, you'd assume he'll start to go expansive now.

It is good see Carey make runs and hopefully banish Ludeman forever.

Geez isn't it nice for our tail to be annoying the bowlers, instead of the usual other way around.

Still we have managed to dig our selves out of it twice. Top Order gets stitched up by the new ball and a day 1 wicket , Weatherald and Lehmann steady the ship. After Ross fails our keeper who is in blistering form opening the innings in club cricket gets to work and gets things back on track again. Now Valente is showing what he can do with the stick supporting Lehmann.

Lehmann out for a brilliant 122 off 148 balls.14x 4, 1x 6

SA 8/296 and I've got to say I'm pretty happy to the position we've been able to get to considering 4 of the top 6 made 16 runs between them!

what's the deck like? Is this a half decent score or are they going to make 450 on us?

Looks a good wicket - ground seems reasonable size and outfield might be a fraction on the slow side... Not sure 300 is a decent score.
