Didn’t like the short ball one bit…..Carey would have had to be a bit disappointed
He should always be batting below Starc.

Odd tactics from SA having both point and square leg back while Carey and Starc where together and getting some easy runs, put on 30 for the 8th wicket in 8.2 overs to help give Aus a handy lead of 66.

Starc should be ahead these days, Cummins batting seems to have fallen away a bit. For mine there was a period there where he was a very very handy number 8 with a good technique and ability to build a partnership with the set batsmen

Cameron Green needs to show something whether batting or bowling in the 2nd innings.
He’s been disappointing to me.
I know he’s young and needs time but just need him to do something with either bat or ball.

SAFOOTY MALigned cricketers all doing well this test
Mitchell STARc 300th wicket
Travis Head 92 in a low scoring match against a ferocious attack
Alex Carey catching well and not out 20 against a ferocious attack

He has the luxury of no one knocking on his door, he has all the talent in the world, it’s just between the ears atm.

Camron Green is doing ok
If you bat at 6 as an allrounder in Test Cricket and end with a career of 35 ave with bat and ball thats good enough
The 5th bowler option is gold

Batting stats for Starc and Cummins each calendar year of their career, Cummins has been better than Starc this year but prior to that his batting was on a decline after 2017 like you thought while Starc's has been consistent hence them swapping positions.

Starc had a slightly better record at 8 than Cummins but both of them have better records at 9.

Yep with Marsh out injured there is no one else.
Is he a batting or bowling alrounder?
I think his batting is good enough but need to see more with his bowling.
Not enough variation when he bowls but that’ll hopefully come with experience

Just comparing the pair-
Marsh is 31, played 32 tests and has a batting average of 25.2 with 2 hundreds and 3 fifties. He has bowling average of 38.64 taking 42 wickets.

Green is 23, played 16 tests and has a batting average 33.5 with 5 fifties. He has a bowling average of 35.44 taking 18 wickets.
With a first class batting average of 48.08 and bowling average of 32.22 you'd say he's a batting allrounder.

Marsh got more than enough opportunity at international level and has had a lacklustre career, IMO Green deserves the same amount of opportunity.

I reckon there's even less chance of Bavuma bringing up his 2nd Test century, on this deck, than a side being bowled out for 15.

What the earliest finishes to a test match ever?
Surely this will come close.

McGrath and Lillee are clearly the best 2 bowlers.
Starc, Johnson, Gillespie and Lee.
Who’s the best out of those 4?
For me
1. Dizzy
2. Starc
3. Lee
4. Johnson
