Lets be serious, everyone loves seeing a pitch where the fast bowlers are looking dangerous - getting batsmen hopping, finding edges, breaking ribs etc... it's exciting.

This chat though does raise some interesting questions - Warner, Lyon, Starc, Smith, Khawaja - how much longer have they got? Are we about to see the test side go through a total rebuild and crash down to Earth?

Nik's an interesting one, he's a very frustrating individual, he does some really good classy deeds and then goes and Nik's up on the court, we have a history of flogger tennis players.

Excellent point. More the reason to start easing one or two out now, rather than 5 or 6 all at once.

Up there and in the conversation but Hayden, Simpson, Morris, Lawry, Langer, Woodfull and Taylor are better for mine (top four in particular)

Pro-rata Morris Lawry and Taylor far fewer ducks than Warner which could be considered an indicator of an ability to stay in initially.

Morris and Lawry certainly better averages.

Khawaja next, one of the other two to get the nod.

Lyon still a few years left, we have young spin options coming through.

I'm not sure who we'll find to get Smith's 60 runs per innings, he seems in good nick fitness-wise though.

Bowling stocks look healthy for a while, wouldn't mind another quick lefty waiting in the wings.

Pretty decent assessment.

A few Starc replacements in the wings, perhaps not the left arm variety which breaks it up though.

I'd wouldn't be surprised if Smith goes on in test cricket. He is not in favour for T/20, and we don't seem to play the same amount of 50 over stuff anymore. So perhaps that extends his red ball time for another few seasons?

Some good names there I missed. Not being a smart arse here, but was Trumper an opener or middle order bat?
