Good performance by Billy Ray and his Kiwis in their 10 run victory over India.
Some very good late order batting by Oram, McMillan and Vettori and great bowling by Vettori as well.

Australia Vs Pakistan

Australia 164- Hodge 36, Hussey 36

defeated by

Pakistan 165- Malik 52, Ul Haq 66

Pretty poor batting performance in the end by Australia with Hodge and Hussey batting well but thats aboout it. Clark was good with the ball with 3 for 27.

Really think that this type of format doesn't suit Australia because of what seems to be a bit of an ingrained thinking of individuals in the side to try and keep their spots in the team at all cost, hence there ain't too many that are game to really cut loose like Gayle or Afridi or Jayasuria. Gilchrist and Hayden probably are but who else is?

We should have won that game the Pakistani's were 4-40 or something but our bowlers just couldn't finish the job but we can't really blame the bowlers, we didn't make enough runs.

Poor batting performance by the Australians, you can't blame Hayden, Ponting and Clarke.

Hayden was due for a shocker.

Ponting injured his hammy.

Clarke got run out.

The rest of them got out on stupid shots. They needed to play like Pakistan, hit singles and twos and then burst out and hit a few fours and sixes. It looked like Australia were trying to hit the ball to hard.

HOF- Of course you cant blame Clarke, he came in with 1.3 overs to come. Batsmen are always going to fail, its the nature of 20/20 cricket but with that line up you expect to make more than 164 and in the end it wasnt enough.

Need to beat Sri Lanka later in the week to make the Semi's

Did anyone stay up late this morning to watch India's Yuvraj Singh go ape****?

Six 6's in an over off Stuart Broad, brought up his 50 off of 12 balls and finished up with 58 off 16 balls. Just before that particular over Yuvraj had a lengthy exchange with Andrew Flintoff.

By the way India scored 218 to which England replied with 200.

I bet you he wishes he'd taken up his fathers aspect of the game after that!

Yeah i watched it, He hit some big ones too.

With two balls left Collingwood came over and had some words with Broad then the next 2 sailed over the fence as well, wonderful batting.

12 Balls is going to be very hard to beat i would think!

Here is the commentary from Cricinfo for every one of his 16 ball innings:

In comes Yuvraj with a hairstyle that is suspiciously styled on Kevin Keegan circa 1978.
16.5 Tremlett to Yuvraj Singh, no run, short and lively welcome from Tremlett
16.6 Tremlett to Yuvraj Singh, FOUR, driven uppishly over the covers, he gave himself room and timed that sweetly
17.2 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, 1 run, swung into the leg side, well picked up
17.4 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, FOUR, half-volley which he squeezes with an open face over point for a one bounce four ... a high-risk shot but his connection was sweet
17.5 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, FOUR, short, hooked into the heavens where it hangs for several seconds before plopping two yards in from the boundary and perfectly between two approaching fielders
17.6 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, 1 run, chipped to long-on
18.1 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, that's out the ground, super shot over cow corner and it just kept going up
The dodgy TV measurement says that's 111 yards ... but as it landed outside the ground how the whatsists do they know? They guess, that's how.
18.2 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, now that really is sweet, no more than a dismissive flick off his legs, swatting a fly, and the ball arcs deep into the crowd beyond backward square leg
18.3 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, he's hitting them everywhere, he steps to leg and smashes the ball over extra cover and it keeps on travelling ... the fireworks start on top of the scoreboard ... they've been going off in the middle for some time
18.4 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, Shiver me timbers!: Broad goes round the wicket, bowls a filthy wide full toss and Yuvraj steers it over backward point and it clears the rope again
England have a team meeting. Shuffling deckchairs on the Jolly Roger though ...
18.5 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, down on one knee and larruped over midwicket, that one was more nine iron, it went into the night sky and dropped with a thud in the jubilant crowd ...
Broad looks quizzical ... and miserable. Can he ... can Yuvraj do it ... he looks like a man who knows he is about to be mauled again ...
18.6 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, and he has, Yuvraj leans back and smacks that over wide mid-on ... it was the maximum from the moment it left that bat and the crowd were roaring as it flew
Unsurprisingly, that's also the fastest Twenty20 fifty - it came up from 12 balls. Three fours, six sixes. More to the point, he's the first batsman to hit six sixes in Twenty20, and the fourth in senior cricket. Garry Sobers and Ravi Shastri did it in first-class matches, Herschelle Gibbs in the World Cup and now Yuvraj.
19.2 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, no run, full toss and a wide one - it pitched nearer the keeper than the stumps - Yuvraj leaves and then he and Flintoff chat
19.3 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, 2 runs, improvised chip into the leg side, he stepped to the off and eased it one bounce to deep midwicket
19.4 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, Flintoff's turn to suffer, a full swing and launched over long-off
19.5 Flintoff to Yuvraj Singh, OUT, finally he doesn't quite get hold of one and thwacks a full toss to long-on. It matters not one jot, he's done his job and the crowd stand in appreciation
Yuvraj Singh c Collingwood b Flintoff 58 (14m 16b 3x4 7x6) SR: 362.50

6 sixes in an over is becoming quite a common occurrence.
It wasn't long ago that Sir Garfield Sobers was the only player in History to have done it and it was one of those Records that looked liked would be Rarely repeated But with the Advent of 20/20 Cricket and Mismatched world cup matches, the list is set to Grow significantly in coming years.
Whats Next? 10 consecutive sixes? A 25 Ball Century? Surely no one could beat Hookseys' 34 Ball,43 minute Ton could they?

Not really all that common.

Sobers in first class cricket, Shastri in first class cricket, Gibbs in ODI cricket and now Yuvraj in this new farcical format.

In fairness to Yuvraj, Broad is probably the best bowler of the lot of them.
