SA a good o/d team can beat VI
TAIT
LEHMANN
that is a difference

The reason why SA play better in 50 over games ?
They HAVE to play thier shots
They ONLY select 1 spinner and 3 quicks

I think SA will bounce back and win
SA has better allrounders than VI

LAst years results
adel ovel
VI 251 [HODGE 88]
SA 222 [BOOF 77]

mcg
SA 238[BOOF DID NOT PLAY]
VI3/242 [HODGE 115*]

HODGE not playing yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
If SA gets HUSSEY out below 10 they should win

yep I had heard a story when Wade announced his deffection from TAS that he was guaranteed the first 3 games of the Pura Cup and obviously to keep Crosthwaite on side put him in the OD side

A young middle order bat to make his first class debut for SA, or so I'm led to believe.

Is there a way that the 2 teams can skip the coin toss? Surely common sense would see Victoria just bat first so that the 18 people who turn up get to see a full days cricket.

Delmont to make first-class debut for SA tomorrow
18/10/2007
Andy Delmont will make his first-class debut, if given the nod in the starting XI to face the Victorian Bushrangers tomorrow.

The all-rounder opened the season with 134 for University against East Torrens and has been selected as a member of the squad to play in the day/night match at Adelaide Oval.

“Under Sorell, I have been focusing on making my cricket consistent across all levels including grade and first-class”, Delmont said this morning.

“I am wrapped this has paid-off and that I have been given this opportunity, it is a great honour to play for South Australia. Tait, is also scheduled to join Cullen, Cleary and Gillespie in the bowling line-up, while Lehmann’s match fitness continues to improve.

Selectors have named a 12-man squad with the starting XI to be named on the morning of the match. The West End Redbacks squad selected for Friday’s day/night match v the Bushrangers is:

Adcock (Capt)
Borgas C
Cosgrove
Cleary
Cullen
Delmont
Elliott
Gillespie
Harris D
Harris R
Manou
Tait

LOOKS like a side that can be competitive, BUT the players LOOKED like cricket players as the walked onto the oval last weekend.

Looks can be deceiving

Betting at Sportsbet

SA $2-25
VI $1-65

No bet for me
SA has a reasonable o/d outfit and are some hope of winning

A lot relies on Tait, Gillespie & Cleary getting wickets today, with Cullen & Adcock to bowl tight to hold up one end.

The only way for us to win is for our bowlers to bowl us to victory.

And probably bat us to victory as well. Remember Dizz is our leading run getter at the moment ;)
