SA superstar batsman Darren Boof Lehmann is according
to sources and confirmed in some posts on SAFOOTY
retiring from cricket in the o/d game v WA next Wednesday

A sad but inevitable day.
Boof is arguably in the top 3 left handed batsman ever produced in SA

MY TOP 3
----------

1 CLEM HILL
2 DAVID HOOKES
3 DARREN LEHMANN

3 great left handed batsman to represent the state

G SOBERS
would be the best lefty to ever bat for SA

BOOF = LEGEND

Well they weren't telling us the full story but I didn't expect him to be told to pull the pin so soon.

Cricket in this state is now right royally screwed with out D.S Lehmann in the selected XI.

A extremely sad end to a fantastic career. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Not a real lot of difference in my opinion between Hookes and Lehmann both very brutal batsman when they got going, sad way for Boof to bow out, no doubt it appears as though he has been shown the gate

''Irate Lehmann above Hookes''.

I didnt think Boof was that angry or that close to Hookesy ....

Four

Lehmann was able to get it together at test level as well as dominating domestic bowling attacks

In his own words IIRC Hookesy said he 'just wasn't good enough' to make it at test level

Both great champions

HOOKES for me.
He could massacre good bowlers more often than Boof at the highest level.
At state level about even.

Is just my suspicious mind or does Boof's premptive injury retirement have anything to do with the new coach worried about senior player disharmony and Sorrell trying to keep one step ahead.

Thanks and Good Luck Boof, You are a dead set legend!!!

Disagree there Mal, Lehmann did much better in a similar number of tests to Hookes.

They do lie sometimes
Hookes played a lot of cricket against far far far superior bowlers at test level
At state level that is not applicable
Dont worry about Boofs ave compared to Hookseys its the opposition.
