I see in the Advertiser yesterday there's a man hunt on for the bloke who luckily enough snaffled Adam Gilchrist's history six six stitcher.
Do you think he should return it? Should people dob him in?

Option B for me - the bloke got lucky and good on him.
Gilly can buy it back if he wants it, market rates.

He'd be able to afford it!

Indeed. Opportunity knocked for this bloke and he's opened the door and welcomed it with open arms. Good on him.

The dude should find Gilly and get him to sign it and then piss off with it again !
A SIGNED ball would be even better !

Seeing he got away with it then he might as well keep it. Although not good form to be stealing cricket balls during a match regardless of the situation!

Come on guys the person who found it should give it to Gilly, Just think that he has worked his whole career to get 100 sixes and someone has tarnished his acheivement buy stealing a cricket ball, you would find that if the person gave it back they would probably get somthing in return like maybe a cricket bat or somthing signed by Gilly

i must admit my first thought was to give it back but the comments made in the paper make you think a bit. they said it was "invaluable" and " by law he had done nothing wrong". this opened a can of worms i think....
for anyone it would be like winning x-lotto, he can have it back for a fee, like SMAC said its not as if he couldnt afford it!!!!!!!
game on B!tches.................

I voted that he should return it but if it was me that had grabbed it I wouldn't and then one day out the blue in a couple of years, track Gilly down and get him to sign MY cricket ball and then sell it for heaps

can't really see the difference from the old days sitting in the side street at the southern end of Prospect oval on the pushbike as a kid, goal, over the fence, grab the ball off ya go on the pushy, gotr quite a lot of footies

How in the Hell could the Person who got the Ball PROVE that it was the ACTUAL Ball Anyway ???????????
Anyone could just get a Kookaburra 4-Piece Ball that was used in a Grade Match that would've had similar wear and Tear and Claim that it was THE BALL. Who would Know any Different. After all Balls are BAlls.
Anyway, How many Pieces of Memorbillia do these Blokes want to Collect over their Career ??????????
And what if the Bowler wanted the Ball to Brag about He was the Bowler that Bowled the Ball that got hit for the 100th 6. Whogets it then?
Did Gilly Get the Ball that he hit the 6 to Break the Record?????
Get Over it Gilly.

Problem is the guy now can't sell it because its only value on Ebay is if he calls it 'Gilly's Six Ball'
So I'd give it to Gilly if he wants it some of us sound like extortionists

I remember an ancient saying- a good deed is it's own reward....
Why not just give it back to Gilly with an "here ya go mate, all the best"?
The Americanisation of Australia is nearly complete...
