Can SA reverse the P/cup debacle v WA ?
Theres no doubt we are a better od/day team and could cause an upset.
ELLIOTT/COSGROVE/FERGUSON/CHRISTIAN should give our bowlers a target to defend.
Much depends on our superstar o/d batsman Matt Elliott who is in great form.
LAST TIME IN PERTH
SA 205
ADCOCK 90 [93] hmmmmn, his best innings ever at state level ?
WA 9/209
TAIT 4/62
AT 4/47 + 6/121 we had WA on the ropes
POMERSBACH 87[104] played a blinder
Were were thrashed last year in the p/cup game in Perth and nearly reversed the result

WA batting line up looks very, very solid to me. Langer, Rogers, Marsh, Pomersbach, Ronchi could really tear us apart. And what's happened to Marcus North? Has he been playing? Or have I just missed his name each time they've played. Obviously their bowling is their big weakness, but I think it's ours as well. Dizzy isn't the bowler he was, while Harris, Rofe, Cullen and the rest don't really look like hurting a batting line up to me.

Herb's starting to find his groove now.
He's also taken some painkillers for a rib injury that he's carrying after getting hit earlier in his innings.
He got dropped by Marsh off magoffin in the 6th over and now into the 8th, he's going after the bowling.
0/36 after 9
Harris 6 from 21
Elliott 28 from 34

It is good to see SA get to 20 without being 2 or 3 down!
Hopefully a good solid start here will give Ferguson, Cosgrove & Christian something to go on with in the later overs...
Also curious to see that WA put SA in first. Is the pitch doing a bit or is this more of a statement of aggression from WA?

From the commentary on baggygreen, it just seems to be a normal bouncy WACA deck
Doesn't seem to be doing anything out of the ordinary.

Herb brings up his half century with his 6000th List A career run.
He's having another great season in the OD form of the game

maybe the batsmen should be told to go out and be attacking in the 4 day game as well. get the bowlers on the back foot

At drinks SA 0/87 after 18 RR of 4.83
*MTG Elliott (lhb) 54 58 7 1 93.10
DJ Harris (rhb) 31 51 3 0 60.78
WA might want to change their reservation to a later time if this keeps up.
Good solid platform by the openers.
Harris seems to be trying to hit everything out of the park and hence isn't timing the ball well, just needs to push the singles around and get Elliott on strike. No need to do anything silly.

pushing into un-chartered seas here at almost 0-100 at a good run-rate
300+ must surely be on the cards

I'd say with the Redbacks history - a mid-order collapse is more likely to be on the cards though.
Good play by Elliot and Dan Harris though.
