2nd Test - Australia v India

Australia won the toss and elected to bat.

Australia unchanged from Melbourne. India only the one change. Zaheer Khan out with an injured heel and the 19 year old Sharma in. Bit surprised they didn't opt for Pathan particularly as he strengthens the batting as well.

Aus 1/9 after 5 overs.

Jaques c. Dhoni b. RP Singh 0.

Had a slash at a short wide one and got a big nick behind.

Look for Ponting to make a big score today.

Aus 2/27

Great catch from Tendulkar.

Excellent start for India.

Well don't want to jinx it but my comment earlier about Ponting getting a big score looks good. He looks in super touch.

Ponting gets a big nick on a wide one down the leg side from Ganguly. Given not out. Bit of luck for Ponting there.

The "to walk or not to walk" debate will no doubt start up now. Personally i reckon you will get a few rough ones so when one goes in your favour you should take it. After all the umpires are there to do a job the batsman shouldn't do it for them.

Aus 2/95 at lunch

Jaques 0
Hayden 13
Ponting 36*
Hussey 37*

Good session of cricket. Very evenly poised at the moment. India a little unlucky not have Ponting caught behind then a missed stumping.

Giving Ponting one chance is playing with fire. Giving him two (albiet one of the two was the fault of the umpire) is going to be a big problem for India...

Great first session, even when the aussies lose a couple of early ones, they still attack the bowling, hopefully a few Indians may take a leaf out of the Aussies book with their batting

Ponting out LBW to a ball he nicked... That squares the karma ledger for him then.

Well i've just been vindicated. Ponting just given out LBW after smashing it into his pads. Terrible decision.

Hussey out now as well. Nick to first slip. Singh gets his 3rd. India on top now.

Aus 4/119

Big chance for Symonds to show his worth here.

Clarke gone now lbw Harbajhan 1. Not offering a shot. Aussies in all sorts of strife. Just lost 3/2 in 12 balls.

Aus 5/121

Symonds and Gilchrist have a lot of work to do.

Singh has bowled superbly and Harbajhan is bowling well also.
