i just heard the same thing, if its true it is an absolute joke, disgrace call it what you like, they obviously were scared that the stump mic would prove what he said so they demanded that it not be used as it might be tampered with, WTF!!!! is this cricket we are talking about or an ASIO investigation ? i cannot believe this, the australian cricketers should stand up and say that they will not take part in the odi series until justice is done - now that would throw the cat amongst the pigeons wouldnt it!!

Looks like he has gotten away with it, total joke, this is going to open the door one feels to some pretty ugly things occurring on the field if the stories I have just heard from media in the City are right, charge has been hugely down graded and he will lose approx 50 percent of his match payment, enoughs enough I say, now we just wait for the official announcement at around 5.30pm

Anyone charged with anything for now on, will just say they're going home, a precedent will be set if he gets away with it

Found guilty of bad language and not racial abuse.
A fair result but crikey, if every cricket player that swore on the field got fined then someone would be in for a massive windfall!

THE International Cricket Council has cleared Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh of racial abuse after a hearing in Adelaide today.
Harbhajan was originally suspended for three matches after being found guilty of racially abusing Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds during the second Test at the SCG.
The ICC appeals commissioner, Justice John Hansen of New Zealand, has reportedly just released his ruling.
Justice Hansen today heard an appeal from Harbhajan and Indian hierarchy against the spinner's three-Test ban for allegedly calling Australian allrounder Andrew Symonds a "monkey'' during the second Test in Sydney.
Justice Hansen heard about five hours of evidence at the Federal Court in Adelaide from key figures in the controversy including Harbhajan, his teammate Sachin Tendulkar, Symonds and Australian captain Ricky Ponting.
Board of Control for Cricket in India vice-president Lalit Modi today said in New Delhi today that India's tour would be abandoned if Harbhajan was found guilty.
"If a clean chit is not given to Harbhajan, the Indian board's decision is to call the team home,'' Modi said.
The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) told Reuters the more serious charge of racial abuse had been downgraded to a lesser charge of using abusive language at today's appeal hearing.
"The racial abuse charges have been dropped," BCCI board secretary Niranjan Shah said.
"It is finished. The punishment is only for using obscene language."
The decision means threats by the BCCI to cancel the rest of the Indian tour of Australia will no longer place in jeopardy the one-day international tri-series involving Sri Lanka and the hosts.
