The Ultimate Bowling Attack.....

Postby evans01 » Wed Feb 06, 2008 8:09 am

After considerable thought..............i have listed what i reckon is a very impressive bowling attack....
I listed only players that i have witnessed....

1/ the great Dennis Lillee..
2/ Richard Hadlee......(hate to admit it)
3/ Big Bird Joel Garner
4/ Shane Warne........

and we could throw in Imram Khan (as the allrounder)

not a bad line up for any Dream Team...............
Your thought and suggestions Ladies & Gentleman????

Good evans! You've got two all rounders in there. My five would be

Lillee (the best fast bowler I have seen)
Hadlee (the best bowler of all the great 80's all rounders)
Holding (tough call but I'd rate Holding ahead of Roberts, Garner and Ambrose the next candidates)
Marshall (But I'd rate Marshall as the best of the lot. That's what Border reckons and that's good enough for me)
Warne (the best spinner I have seen)

regards,

Kapil Dev
Sir Richard Hadlee
(Sir) Shane Warne
Dennis Lillee
(Sir) Glenn McGrath

And with Viv Richards and AB in the team, there's two more spin options...

Just my opinion, I actually rate him slightly higher than Akram as a bowler and I didn't really see alot of Imran to make a judgement

Marshall - genius and deadly
Ambrose - bounce anywhere
Akram - left-armer for the variety
McGrath - took wickets everywhere, including the sub-continent, unlike most
Warne - didn't throw

Akram is batting at 7, because we've got Gilchrist at 6. But my first five is Sutcliffe, Hayden, Bradman, Lara and Ponting, so I feel good generally about our chances against most teams.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

Quickly on the Max Walker/Scott Muller stats, the most damning one would be that Walker played 105 more games in a career only 4 years longer...
