Who's the stand-in for Symonds?

With Symonds not touring Pakistan who will take his batting place?

He is in the side as a batting all-rounder does that open the door for Watto

Or can Pup's spinners be enough for a fifth bowler so we can look at D Hussey, Hodge or Katich?

Or anyone else? I am not as close to the Pura Cup action as some of you what do you think?

With Haddin the other change its definitely turning into a new look Aussie side!

Katich, Hodge and Hussey will all be considered IMO.

Ashley Noffke will be selected before Watson IMO. I also think Bryce McGain will go to Pakistan as well.

I have a feeling Katich may get the nod.

There will be two spinners go to Pakistan one will be Dan Cullen. but if someone has to come in for symonds it will be katich or Hodge. because they wont pick an all rounder to cover him. clarke has bowled more overs than symonds this summer so the smart thing to do is pick a batsmen. but they could play 3 pace bowlers and two spinners.

Sorry lads
If Cullen or Watson go over it would be a disgrace
In Pura Cup cricket Watto averages 19 [BUT WILL DO BETTER]
Cullen is probably the most over rated off spinner in a long long time
Cullen is a good spinner in 50 over games, but in the Pura Cup he is shocking these days
If they want to replace Andrew Symonds with an allrounder it would be James Hopes
If you choose a batsman for tests it must be KATICH/HUSSEY

Cricket is now in a whirlpool quicker than my spin dryer, who knows where it is heading due tio this new comp, I think things are looking now pretty shakey :(

Dan Cullen in the national side  If that happens I am proceeding with legal action against the selectors for MALpractice.

The next batsman will be David Hussey. End of argument.
The sad thing is that there is IMHO, no spinner in Australia who deserves to wear the baggy green.

MacGill certainly deserves to wear it, provided he is 100% fit and committed.

If he's fit, I'm sure he'll be picked, it's just my opinion that there isn't any spinner that can force their way into the Test XI.
Having said that, we aren't going to play four quicks in Pakistan...

no im putting my hand up for the spinners spot. I can bowl a few offies, with a good top spinner, so that puts me ahead of most spinners in Aus at the moment ;).

Ok serious now, McGrain from vic maybe. Clarke will make up some overs and maybe D.Hussey with his off breaks aswell.
