Lehmann possibly could have done the job, but his body was obviously shot and apparently his priorities were elsewhere anyway.
I don't think we need anyone who can captain necessarily. We lack leadership, but I'd happily take a bloke who wants to stand at slip and let someone else shuffle the deck chairs if he could just show the way with his batting. I think our kids would respond really well to a number 3 who could grind out 800+ runs a season.
Perhaps we can convince some of these Indian kids to come over and try to play Aussie first class cricket. The IPL will take care of their pay packets by the looks of it, so perhaps we now have the chance to push the opportunity to test themselves in the toughest first class comp in the world? If they're earning 500k in two months perhaps we can convince them that they can spend a decent proportion of the rest of the year trying to improve. It might be a long shot, but would be at least worth sounding out some of them.

mate that is a fantastic idea, what a coup that would be.........wont happen but we dont have the balls to bite the bullet and get off our arses and get him here, that would take vision something the goons at the saca severely lack

Don't know if we got enough hotties here in SA for him, not enough nightclubs either
