Paul Marsh, the Australian Cricketers' Association chief executive, added his voice to the debate on player burnout by claiming that Australia's poor performance in the Fatullah Test was down to exhaustion.

Oh good god, just admit they gave us a real shake that the team wasn't ready for.
He also highlighted the point that the Australian team are playing too much and travel too much.
Unless I'm mistaken, they travel just as much as every other ICC Test Nation.

Exhaustion?? How can this be so when they have rotated and rested players all summer? They can swap jobs with me if they can't cut it.

Well I didn't see any of the test (so im basing this all on the scorecard), however if you look at australia's bowling, the two best bowlers were Dizzy and Magill, Who were fresh. Lee and warne didn't go well, with Lee likely tired from having to lead Australia's bowling line up since Mcgrath has been injured, and clearly below his best. likewise for warne im sure playing alot of tests in a short time isn't helping his shoulder.
While i see fatigue as a valid reason for why the bowlers were sub par, I dont think its valid for the batters. I think that is more to do with who is in the side..
As for the resting of players, each player may of missed 1 oneday game. They have still played alot of cricket.

Dizzy and MacGill are only 'fresh' as far as an International persepctive is concerned, but both bowled a lot of overs in domestic cricket over the summer. They couldn't afford to be 'rested' because they needed to perfrom to impress the Test selectors. Dizzy was bowling right up to the Grade Grand Final that finished a couple of days before he was in the flight to Bangladesh.
