ODI Australia vs South Africa at the Bellerive Oval

Postby hearts on fire » Fri Jan 16, 2009 9:58 pm

It's on Sunday, 19th January.

What can we expect now? Another South African win or an Australian come back?

Who will be dropped? i think James Hopes could be in the firing line, made nothing with bat and went for over 5 an over with the ball.

I think Australia will win this, should've won tonight, but made a few little mistakes.

I think Hauritz may come in for Hope's. I dont think M.Hussey is the best choice at the top of the order, I wonder if this is a signal that he may open in the Test matches to follow.

We were capable of setting some something like 300 or so for victory but there wasn't enough attack all throughout the innings. Poor fielding at crucial stages was also an issue and imo it was a combination of these two things that cost us above all else. Once again the value of getting game time into Tait and Hilfenhaus should not be overlooked. Hilf wasn't at his best but it won't take him long to settle and show us all how good he is.

Should still win the series.

The SA fielding has been very poor having dropped Ponting twice and Marsh once. We look as though 300 is on the cards with wickets in hand.

We should be able to get 300+, plenty of wickets in hand and with the South African's fielding sh1t, this should make it easier.

Australia 1/140 off of 26.3 overs.
