I'm wondering why we decided to drop our best bowler

I assume you are talking abot S Clark, and that would be because besides the one good innings in England he didn't bowl very well IMO.

I think his days at Test level are just about up.

I think they are backing the HILF to play the role Clark has in the past. Not sure if it is the right way to go, but i don't mind seeing them looking to the youth.

With who we are playing this year and with the ASHES coming up next year, CLark may not be in the best side then! It is about looking to regain the ASHES and IMO they are picking the best side for that series , well they should be, and that IMO includes having Watson batting middle order!

At the moment bowling on a flat as a tack (King William ROAD ;) ) deck S Clark has 3/55 off 24, while Bollinger has 0/57 off the same amount of overs. He still has plenty to give.

Hilf and Clark are two different bowlers IMO.

Clark bowls line and length and is very effective, whilst Hilf is a genuine swing bowler.

That is because Stuart Clark makes the batsmen play almost every ball just like Glenn McGrath did. This is what we need in the Aussie team, someone constantly pressuring the batsmen and eventually forcing the error.

I'm tipping Clark to be in the side before these 6 tests (3 v Windies, 3 v Pakis) are over...

As indicate by a quote from Hilditch
We have very much an eye on the Ashes and if our assessment at the time is that Stuart is the best bowler for the Ashes and he's still going well, then so be it," Hilditch said. "At the moment we're preferring this bowling group."
