Jacques smashes ANOTHER Double Ton

Postby Maddogmike » Thu Jun 22, 2006 7:54 am

Jacques has continued his stellar 1st class season with Worcestershire boshing another 202 on day 1. Including pasting Monty Panesar everywhere. Panesar finished with 40 overs 1-150 (long day at the office son - imagine how sweaty the turbin would be?!)

Travis Birt also notched another ton for Derby, and has pressed his claims for Aust A selection later on.

Dizzy picked up a late wicket on day 1 for Yorkshire, whilst Warne and Thornley grabbed a wicket each for Hampshire.

Cosgrove hammered a quick fire 60 odd for Glamorgan, and I think the call for Burgers must have come 40 runs to early!

Well done to these blokes!

Hey aren't Worcs in div 2 MDM? Given the standard of some of the Div 2 teams it would be akin the playing CA Cup 2nd XI cricket.

For me Langer should be in the XI before Jaques gets a gig
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think you will find there are still quality bowlers playing in all of the teams, just the depth may be lacking in some of the attacks. The overall county circuit probably wouldnt be as strong as Aust 1st class cricket, but certainly with the addition of overseas players makes for a high standard.
