Your Team for Adelaide

This is the side I would like to see in Adelaide

Katich (Hughes if Katich not 100% fit)
Watson
Ponting
Clarke (Khawaja/Ferguson if Clarke not 100% fit)
Hussey
White
Haddin
Harris
Doherty
Siddle
Bollinger

12th: Hilfenhaus or George

Would only play 100% fit players so if Kat or Pup aren't quite there they should not play.

Interested to see others thoughts.

The interviewing heard, they asked "let me double check your available for australian selection?" "he replied of course I am! I'll never knock back a chance to represent my country" ...

That to me, suggests he is available in the formats he are playing in at the moment

Katich
Watson
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Fergeson
Hadden
Smith
Siddle
Hilfy
Bollinger

Having said all that, I would love to see Hadden picked as a batsman @ 6 & Paine the keeper @ 7, but that's just me.

Can't wait for front row seats Saturday & Sunday... C'mon Aussie!!!

bet if he got asked he would play but if thats the case you would have to look at Hughes to open and drop Katich to 3 and Ponting 4 etc, i dont believe Clarke will play due to his back and evidently Hilf may well have aggravated his injury as well

I'm not sure Harris AND Bollinger are necessarially going to be the answer. I'd put Bollinger in ahead of Harris but I think it to make two changes to the bowlers based on the Brisbane game where the pitch turned into a road could be dangerous. When it wasn't a road we bowled them out for 250. We could be jumping at shadows. There's every chance Australia could have got 1-400 on that pitch if they had more time.

I think I'd back Johnson in at least one more time in such a crucial game rather than putting our faith in an attack of:

Siddle - 17 tests
Bollinger - 11 tests
Harris - 2 tests (age 31)

Siddle had his own question marks before the first test and one test later he would be leading the attack. So I'd go current team LESS Hilf PLUS Bollinger. 2 changes also smells of panic and England would get a boost knowing that the selectors have turned over 50% of the bowlers after one game.

I think if thye have backed North in for the first test they have to give him at least more than one innings especially given the lack of a standout alternative.

You are right, all forms of cricket he is playing. He is not playing shield cricket therefore is not putting his hand up for test selection. get over hodge and him being the answer.

1. S. Watson
2. P. Hughes (only if Kat doesn't pull up)
3. RT Ponting
4. M. Clarke
5. M. Hussey
6. U. Khawaja
7. B. Haddin
8. X. Doherty
9. B. Hilfenhaus
10. P. Siddle
11. P. George

Explanation: Callum Ferguson is cover, and if Clarke doesn't "pull up," then I'd throw Khawaja up the order, and put Ferg at 6.
I think Clarke should be dropped, not just for the injury, but for NOT dropping himself...

Hughes obviously only if Kat is unfit.

Peter George is going alright now, and it is time for his second chance. At the expense of Johnno, because he has nothing...

I think we need to fresh up the bowling line up as the test starts friday. Johnson needs to go back to WA for the rest of the season to get a bit mojo back.

We cant bowl them out this summer, so might as well stack the batting
Get a draw in Adelaide , then my boys Douggie and Rhino might be fit enough for the 3rd Test

just about put your house on it doherty will play and will get better. Smith would also most likely replace north as a wrist spin option
