Placing stats about South Australia since 1995/96

Postby spell_check » Mon Nov 29, 2010 6:14 pm

Every year, the legend grows. That Shield win in 1996, nothing since.

In that time:
Shield final wins:
Qld: 5
NSW: 3
Vic: 3
WA: 2
Tas: 1
SA: 0

One Day final wins:
NSW: 4
Qld: 3
Tas: 3
WA: 3
Vic: 1
SA: 0

In fact, I don't need to go on any more.

In fact, SA has only been in one of those finals in that time, the 2005/06 ING Cup. Also was the last time Channel 9 covered a domestic match.

How many bottom finishes for SA in the Shield in that time spelly? I've got an inkling that it would be a lower than expected amount.

Thats a good effort from tassie.
All these people that say sa hasnt got the population or resources to compete with the bigger states your argument just shot to pieces.
Tassie would have quarter our population and resources so just shows what can be done when a good hierachy are running the show. SACA take note

Lower than 6?

Mind you, NSW also has 5 bottom places, too, with Tas (2) and Qld (1)

Notice a pattern with our seasons?:

1st, 6th, 6th, 4th, 4th, 6th, 4th, 4th, 6th, 5th, 3rd, 6th, 5th, 3rd, 6th

Note, the colours are two shades of brown = sh1t and play dough sh1t.

If there was a team that could finish 7th out of 6 teams it would be the Redbacks :) No i just meant that even in years when we were probably the worst team in the competition, we still managed to somehow scrape enough points to finish 4th or 5th.

Funnily enough, that did not happen when the ACT were in the Mercantile Mutual Cup. The ACT did ok, too, with a young Brad Haddin emerging onto the scene.

What do you expect, according to some posters on this site we've got 13 of the 11 international spots. ;)

I still remember watching that, Taity was on fire that day. It was great to watch.
