Rod Marsh Appointment

Be interested to see what Rod Marsh's appointment does to improve SA cricket. So far it appears limited to stacking Grade cricket sides with promising poms. Can't really see how this improves our youngsters coming through.

Will he tackle the Grade cricket farcical setup? It's hard to see what University provides to Grade cricket. They do not contribute to junior development and syphon off players from other Grade clubs who have spent years of time and effort on nurturing these players. Their inclusion also means Grade cricket has a bye.

it wont help @ all the poms will arrive after the preseason and possibly miss the first few games and then tick off back to England when their respective counties want them for preseason training missing our finals if their grade club makes them

Couldn't agree more heater31. Seems Rod is having a bit of trouble cutting his ties with England.

SA's under age sides haven't provided much, results wise, for a long time. Yes, we are "under the pump" population wise but it will be interesting to see what Marsh comes up with.

if the SACA hold out like they have in the past and do nothing a club that does not contribute to junior development might die out in the future. how many players does University have aged under 21 in their lower grades? how many aged over 30???

Last in, first out??
Would that be Salisbury/Elizabeth? Hang on that's Northern Districts. They've got 4 in the State senior squad and a stack in under age.
or Southern District? 2 in the State squad and heaps in under age

Uni. 2 in state squad. Not a junior in sight.
Adcock. ex - Sturt (at least 4 seasons) .Must have compromising photos of the selectors.
Rofe. Ex East Torrens (at least 7 seasons). Quality. Why would he leave East Torrens? Couldn't be because he wasn't getting a bowl.

So are you saying that you think uni should be the ones to go. Big call. How about say the 2 div setup...

Something's gotta give soon Stan, but there is 13 teams in the comp and ideally i think the SACA would want to get rid of the bye.

Ideally the SACA would like to do alot of things, but they probably wont do anything.
