http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/content/current/story/601951.htmlI guess we finally can ignore Australian international cricketers when they complain about "too much cricket these days".
Watson can bowl for the highest bidder, but not for his country.

I bet 95% of people would do the same thing given his situation.

Probably right. 95% would complain about too much cricket, when they have a choice to take a break.

What's the go with Mike Hussey? Retires from international cricket to 'spend more time with his family' and is now going to play in the IPL for six weeks or so. I'm a little disappointed with that after really not wanting him to retire. Guess he still has to pay the bills though.
And I don't know why an IPL team would want Michael Clarke if he's going to be on a huge paypacket, there are much better T20 batsman out there. Obviously a great test player but not too flash in the shorter format of the game.
Good on Mitch Starc for choosing country before cash at this point in time. I would never ever choose the IPL over playing for Australia.

6 weeks away for nearly a million dollars is better than 6 months away for not even half of that. Hussey had reasons to retire...ie clarke being a giant douche.
The franchises don't care about winning, Clarke will get people through the door as he is a big name. The owners of the teams want some return on their investment. He will go for a buckload of cash.

Yeah fair points Squids, guess I'm just still annoyed about Hussey's retirement lol. With Clarke, I just thought the team he's going to play for might want to win a few games but they probably don't give a f##k anyway hey.
It's disappointing that India is fast turning the Gentleman's game into a corrupt moneyfest.

World Series Cricket ... Bollywood style
The ICC should either control it or ban it, but they're on the take as well.
Oh, and yes, I'd probably faark a black snake with a festered arse for the money the curry syndicates are throwing around.

Heard today that there is more to the Hussey retirement than the public know about. It appears that Mike may have issues with someone on the team hence is omission from the one day series. Also another former player who retired rather abruptly may have had issues with the same player.....

Mike Hussey is at the centre of a rumour doing the rounds by email, and published in of all places a financial gossip column on Thursday, that he and Michael Clarke had a spectacular falling out after his farewell Test at the SCG. According to the scuttlebutt, Hussey and Clarke had been split over where post-match celebrations should be held - Mr Cricket wanted them in the dressing room and then the hotel, but the captain preferred a planned evening on James Packer's super yacht Seahorse (travelling to the super yacht on a private jet emblazoned with the word "Squids"). Hussey, it was claimed, boycotted the boat ride in protest, having also just been surprisingly left out of the one-day squad. He was joined by two other players, the email said. The Tonk was made aware of the alleged dispute on Wednesday morning and quickly had it shot down vehemently by Hussey's management and Cricket Australia. There is at least one element of truth to the email, though - Hussey did not join teammates on Packer's vessel. But the way it was told to this column is that was because the team had already celebrated in their SCG dressing room and then their hotel until about 10pm and he wanted to rejoin his family, who were staying with him in a suite at the team's Sydney base. The Tonk was told the others who stayed in the hotel at The Rocks instead of boarding the boat were Shane Watson, who missed the Test because of injury but wanted to be part of Hussey's farewell, and Peter Siddle. Support staff with families present, including Steve Rixon and Dene Hills, also stayed with Hussey in the hotel rather than hitting Sydney Harbour.

The only reason Starc isnt playing is the fact his having an ankle clean out nothing to do with country v IPL.
PS. I hate Mitchell Starc

If, IF, there is any truth in that story, we are screwed.
