Will be interesting to see how the side shapes up in a few weeks for the first SS game back. Obviously need to replace Hughes at the top of the order .

This was the last SS side:

Klinger
Hughes
Head
Cooper
Ferguson
Botha
Ludeman
Mennie
Richardson
Sayers

Id love to see Tim Evans get a gig, currently has 500 runs in the Premier League @60 odd. They did open with Raph in the last Futures game so he may get the nod.

Raphael is the backup opener in the squad and scored a 50 in the last futures game including smacking the no.1 spinner in the country for a zac.

Ferg in good nick with a hundred chasing the NSW target.

How many runs has Jake Lehmann scored at PL level?

Kelvin Smith I would imagine to come in. Jake Brown also a chance.

That's only 10 players. Who was the other player?

Hughes out would mean some excited blokes around the fringes this weekend.

A big ton this Saturday could be timely.

Don't lose the toss!

Most of them would have been 6 on any ground in Australia too.

Must have been awesome to watch....apart from the stinking heat and getting belted bit.
Southerns spinners had decent figures so who did he take to?

Their best spinner barely bowled after lunch but part-time spin and the pace attack copped it

That's crazy. Only saw him once in a shield game against WA earlier this season, and it was funny to see the field spread before he had faced a ball. Surprised he didn't get a T20 gig somewhere (unless he did and I didn't pick notice)

Nope the closest he got was named in the Strikers match day squad for the last couple of games.....

Hardly reassuring if you need to bat long periods against quality opposition.
Get Graham Yates in there.
He's averaging well over 200 and is still a better bat than 90% of the cricketers playing district cricket ATM.

Checked the Shield ladder recently? Darren Berry was a keen observer at several games yesterday so Club cricket performances do still impact selection for First Class cricket....

Granted that Bowling yesterday on a flat wicket in oppressive heat was tough but to stand out there for nearly 4 and half hours is impressive and didn't really explode until after his first 100 runs.

Lawford.
75,16,51,33,24,0,7,0,8 then 265.
Sure it's not just a day out?
You can't get a game on those stats surly.

Add in Lawfords wickets and he appears to be a handy allrounder.
