All bias aside I reckon Sanga has him covered due to the fact he batted higher up the order and generally has come in at worse situations in test cricket than Gilly

Gilly more destructive and entertaining to watch though

Agreed, Sangakkara doesnt get the praise he would if he played for a bigger nation.
Remarkable effort considering he has played for a fairly average side most of his career

Agree re Sangakarrra being an underrated superstar, always enjoy watching him play.
He recently played his last one-dayer in Sri Lanka, so maybe the World Cup is going to be his swansong? Hope not, hoping to go to Sri Lanka when we go there next August.

Sangakkara brings up his 11th double century, only 1 behind The Don. Compare that to Tendulkar who only made 6 double centuries so a fair effort.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka 1st Test Hagley Oval Christchurch

Out for 203 to a blinder of a catch
Sri Lanka lead by 135
Commentators saying that this may be his last test, be a shame if so

Funnily enough out of all his opponents Sanga struggle the most with the West Indies

Only average 31 against them
