Who will win the PURA CUP +ING CUP + 20/20 CUP in 2006/2007

Interested in everyones selections on who will win.
Any news on retirements, transfers etc.

My tips.

PURA CUP: QL-SA-NS-VI-WA-TA

ING CUP : WA-QL-SA-NS-VI-TA

20/20 CUP: WA-QL-NS-VI-SA-TA

QL always hard to beat in the pura cup, SA is a chance if they
get enough games out of Gillespie AND Tait.
Surely ELLIOT and BLEWETT will have better years, so the batting
will most likely improve.

WA has some explosive batsmen and will be hard to beat in the ing cup
SA will be very competitive and a chance.

20/20 pyjama cricket anybody wins these.

Pura Cup

South Australia over NSW or QLD

South Australia will have a super-talented line up this year for the Pura Cup.

Lehmann & Gillespie are champions, enough said here. Also throw in Manou, Elliot & Blewitt who we all know can play (sometimes), and if the latter two are actually fit to play...

The real plus for SA is their youngsters:
Batsmen: Cosgrove is a star and will play well when in the side. I think Ferguson will step up this year and begin to make consistent high scores - ditto for Borgas.
Bowlers: SA probably have 3 of the best up-and-coming bowlers in this country right now in Tait, Cullen and Bailey. Exciting times ahead for these guys. Throw Rofe in here as well, as he is still relatively young. Rofe will find it tough to get a gig this year, especially if Tait, Gillespie, Cullen, Bailey and Cleary as the all-rounder are all playing, but will find himself in if anyone gets a international call-up.

Cleary has also looked the goods, especially once he got back into the Pura Cup side late last season where he bowled and batted beautifully.


ING Cup

Too hard to call at this stage, but should be from one of either NSW, QLD, WA or SA.

BTW does anyone know if any of the domestic games will be shown on Channel 9 at all this year? If Fox Sports have the TV rights I am guessing no - but I haven't actually heard.

Queensland will be tough to beat in the Shield again.

Hopefully the Redbacks can break their drought this year, especially with Boof in sensational form again, hes racking them up in county cricket.

I reckon the Bulls might be without the services of Mitchell Johnson for large chunks of this season, there are no decent spin options and there is another year on the clock for several key players. It might prove tough for the Bulls to back up.

Kasper, Bichel, Dawes is it thier final year ?
REB is Doran[I think thats his name] a leg spinner who might do OK ?
Hauritz is gone, no great loss.
Good allrounders Symonds, Hopes, Watson might help a percieved bowling deficiency.

Yeah they are vulnerable as you say.

Yeah Doran is QLD's legspinner - he has a very similar action to MacGill, and can turn the ball just as much. A better prospect than Hauritz for them anyway...

mally. Only one of those Bulls alrounders will be available for the majority of the year and both might be missing once the pj cricket kicks off after the real stuff.

I've got nfi what the finishing order will be but I'll attempt to answer your question...

In the Moo Moo the Vics to go one better. In the one dayers, the Blueboys have the depth to have a good squad thorought the competition. The Redbacks, relying on the same blokes will end up with the same or similar results. Having Dizzy for the full year and Tait for most of it will boost the backs Moo Moo chances. WA to tread water and Tassie to be one day wonders and Moo Moo strugglers as per usual. Like I said, NFI, as this is the toughest set of domestic cricket competitions in the world.
