No real surprises in the squad besides fekete

Good to see Bancroft named.

Voges maybe surprising to hold his spot but they need experience.

I also like the selection of maxwell. Even though he hasn't quite adapted to test cricket he is clearly in the top 11 most talented blokes going around. It's now on him to show it.

Steve Smith (c), Adam Voges (vc), Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Patrick Cummins, Andrew Fekete, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Nevill, Stephen O’Keefe, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc

Fair calls all of them...... Head looks the most likely of that list. Such a shame Ferg got injured when he did, and when a few spots in the team opened up, he was sadly out of touch.

Strangely the Bangladeshis have their own scandal to deal with......

Fast Bowler Shahadat Hossain has had a warrant issued for his arrest to answer allegations over an assault on an eleven year old female housekeeper

Interesting that SOK got called up ahead of Agar or Ahmed.
Maybe Maxwell to bowl spin over there, ugh

I like SOK, reckon he hasnt really put a foot wrong.

They have a lot of flexibility with both marsh and maxwell able to bowl useful overs, but still think they should play two spinners, with maxwell the third spin option and marsh the third pace option. Would provide a pretty balanced attack.

Will be interesting to see whether they pick Siddle or Cummins, given they have rested Johnson and Hazelwood.

I reckon siddle has to play, and i can see them playing starc for one of the games and cummins for the other.

Rogers did start late but I do tend to agree with you.

So what do we do? Do we play our best, most balanced 11 or do we blood youngsters? I think given where we are at the moment we should be fielding our strongest side.

Australia should always field it's strongest side, at times I question that though. I also believe that we should pick our best 6 batters, a wicketkeeper and our 4 best bowlers (in the given conditions) if one of those players has another string to his bow (as an allrounder) then that is a bonus. I don't think you pick an allrounder just for the hell of it.

I know this is completely un-Australian but I'd like to see us lose a game against the Bangers, or fight off a draw at least.

I'd rather us going forward showing more respect for our opposition and identifying the flaws in our line up opposed to thinking we're world beaters after flogging a third world side and chumps tonning up.

Exactly, same as at times when we've picked a spinner because that's what everyone does, if you don't have a world class spinner, don't pick one, same applies for all rounders.

Yeah I kind off get that.... Even better if Bangers beat us, with our best line up, on their ability. Good thing for world cricket. Agree blokes tonning up over there, while good for their confidence, isn't going to stand up when the Poms are running through our top order in swinging conditions. That's where we have been found out, and need to find blokes with the technique & temprement to stand tall when it's tough.

Good to see Bancroft and Burns get spots. Though Burns has been slightly exposed in England, definitely need to give him a go.

Once Warner got injured they had to go for Khawaja, I can handle him playing before S Marsh, so I hope the top three is Bancroft, Khawaja and Burns.
In regards to Maxwell and S Marsh, I would have preferred we tried Wade solely as a no 6 and Nevill to keep. He has shown enough at Test level in the past for it to be worth ago, has some experience, and agree with LM and CM, we shouldn't pick an all rounder just for the sake of it.

This series is going to be really intriguing, even if the cricket isn't the greatest, as Bangladesh haven't been playing minnow-level cricket recently.

Bangladesh have been very handy at home for the past year and will be hard to beat for the young Aussie side that may struggle against spin. Only thing is Steve smith will dominate and Lyon will be a handful for the the bangas which will give you blokes the win in a tight series I reckon. The Aussies pace attack will struggle in these conditions without Johnson as there won't be anything in the wickets for them.

This will be the last series v Bangladesh that we can field an inexperienced side and experiment with players. The Tiger is beginning to wake from its slumber and watch them climb the world rankings in the Test Arena.

They have some good young kids in the bowling department and a couple of blokes handy with the stick on their day.
