Seriously concerned about the commentators we may or may not get on Channel 7.
Channel 9's strength has been they have always had genuine cricket people on the coverage. I hope we don't get generic sports commentators like Basil, Maher or Howie, the latter two on the BBL demonstrate why it that comp is only entertainment for the casual mass audiences.
I, for one, hope at least Warnie, Taylor and Clarke are still covering tests as I enjoy listening to their cricket knowledge.

Press Release -

Australian cricket fans will have access to more cricket coverage than ever following a landmark partnership with FOX SPORTS and Seven West Media, announced by Cricket Australia (CA) today.

Women’s cricket has been placed at the forefront of the partnership with all Women’s Commonwealth Bank International matches and 23 Rebel Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) matches each season to be broadcast on Seven and FOX SPORTS. CA will live stream the remaining WBBL matches on cricket.com.au and the CA Live App.

In addition to women’s cricket, Men’s International Cricket will take a new shape, with Seven and FOX SPORTS broadcasting all Test Matches throughout the summer. FOX SPORTS will exclusively broadcast Men’s Gillette One-Day and T20 Internationals.

This summer the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) will become a full Home and Away season for the first time. Identical to last season 43 BBL matches will be broadcast on free to air TV through new partner Seven, while FOX SPORTS will broadcast all 59 matches.

There will also be a new digital partnership between FOX SPORTS and CA’s digital arm, Cricket Network. This partnership will bring more content than ever to Cricket Australia Live App and cricket.com.au users.

FOX SPORTS will also launch a dedicated FOX cricket channel along with broadcasting 13 JLT One-Day Cup matches, the JLT Sheffield Shield Final along with some Tour matches.

Cricket Australia will continue to deliver broadcast-quality streaming of matches not broadcast by the two networks including International tour matches, non-broadcast JLT One-Day Cup and JLT Sheffield Shield matches, all available through cricket.com.au and the CA Live Pass. Fans will also still be able to access all the highlights they have come to enjoy through cricket.com.au and Cricket Australia Live.

The new six-year broadcast and digital partnership will result in overall benefit to the sport worth $1.182b over six years.

For sentimental reasons, it's a tad sad to see 9 lose the rights but...

Great that the Shield final is broadcast but given a dedicated channel surely 1 game per round could have been done as well?

Great News it has cost 1.2 billion to get rid of all those channel 9 commentators Yay..

They are all well past their use by date & Warne & Clarke waffle on far too much - its time for some new blood.

Tim Lane to head the show, get Bernard Julian & Mark Nicholas is good & there'll be lots of others who are keen.

Poor Healy has got concerns of how it will all work Uuuh?? bye bye to U Taylor, Slater etc yippeee

i like nicholas, warne and pietersen when its not part of the ch9 coverage. when they are on the international coverage (such as recently in SA) they are fine. so i reckon its ch9 directing them to act like idiots. they are the MMM of TV commentary

That's a bit left field with Bernard Julien, wonder if Brendon would feel slighted? I don't mind Nicholas, he shits on tards like Slater.

I watched Adelaide v Collingwood, North v Carlton and Port v Essendon on the weekend, I reckon there was 20 mentions of cricket, whether it be sand paper, the ball swinging, a bowlers run up, any segue they could muster up a cricket reference too they did. Was clearly a directive from the C7 and Fox execs.

didnt even realise it was schedule, but apparently bangladesh were going to tour here in august/september, and that has been canned

http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/ ... later-year

the article says it happened before the new rights deal - would have thought Fox would have loved to broadcast that exclusively if Ch7/9 didnt want it

None of the Ch9 team have been picked up by 7 or Fox, is that right?

Shane Warne has - which im fine with. On his overseas stints he is very good, so that tells me that its Ch9's fault that he sometimes talks too much about random other shit

https://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/go ... 1526876928

So far its

Warne, Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Allan Border, Brendon Julian, Michael Hussey, Michael Vaughan, Isa Guha and Mel Jones

you would think they would be going hard for Ponting too
