Cricket Australia Contracted Players 2016-17

George Bailey, Joe Burns, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Patrick Cummins, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, John Hastings, Josh Hazlewood, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Nevill, James Pattinson, Adam Voges, Peter Siddle, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner

1. I must admit, I'm surprised Adam Zampa didn't earn a contract as he's probably going to be a regular around the limited over setup over the coming year and 2. I'm very surprised Cummins got another deal, when was the last time the lad even played for Australia?

The love affair with Pat Cummins continues!!

How he still holds an international contract has got me f**ked. Cut him loose FFS, his body is simply not up to it.

Also matters to the state bodies, because if they're contracted then they're paid for by CA I'm pretty sure, which then frees up valuable $$ to invest in someone else etc.

All very complicated process......heard down at the shield final the base contract for State players is pushing $80,000 next season. Then add match payments of around $1500 per List A game and $5000 per shield match.

Umm yes. I had a quick look on mycricket.... the batting is a little modest. Looks like you had a decent year with the ball though - :)

Decent year with the ball, until you factor in that i finished third in the bowling trophy. That doesn't really bother me, its more the fact that i lost to my two brothers that is the thing im shitty about :D

Yes it looked like your family has its own team. Be great, plenty of sledging of each other. Drop a catch off their bowling and tell them to get stuffed etc. Which reminds me, I am yet to take a catch off my son's bowling, dropped plenty tho.... and does he give me shit!

I used to cop a fair amount already, but this year my other brother came to play, so there was all three of us, and I was also skipper for the first time. So yeah, it went up a notch :D

Good fun though.

I would love to play until my lad is old enough, but thats probably 15 years away, I might be struggling to play when im 46.

Anyway, back on topic, I wish i got paid 5k a game :D

Yes - off topic - I am pushing 50, and still going through the hoops - not for $5k a game though!

The designated 12th man for a test match (i.e. whether the actual 12th man or a random district cricketer who can field) gets $1,000 a day, potentially for sitting on the bench the whole day.
