Chadd Sayers' 7/84 has taken him to 61 wickets for the season, behind only Shaun Tait (65) & Colin Miller (67) for most wickets in a season. Sayers also brought up his 200th wicket for SA.

Alex Carey's five dismissals has tied the record for most dismissals in a season of 58 held by Chris Hartley & Wade Seccombe. Carey needs eight runs this innings to equal the 50 dismissal, 500 run season double achieved previously by Hartley, Adam Gilchrist & Matthew Wade.

Brilliant season by both who have stood up in the Final and not their fault the Shield will be going back to Victoria.

Mainly only seen the highlights of the game so far but Careys catching has been brilliant. Could have conceded 800 otherwise.

I dont really have the solution but the Final format of the top team only having to Draw just doesnt do anything for the game as a spectacle. From memory, there have been too many snooze / run fests in Finals over the years.
Having said that, SAs last Shield win came from a thrilling draw :D

Having only to draw didn't help us last year[emoji3]

Or just get neutral curators to produce the decks.

Maybe the Shield look at a finals set up.
Finish top and you get the shield
Top 4 play off
1 V 4
2 V 3
Etc

Winner gets cash bonus
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

Now Travis Head out for a duck. He really has had a shocker since Xmas (due to all the 20/20 stuff - he just does not get himself in).

At least they will be back in time to get dolled up for the Neil Dansie Medal on Friday night now with the early finish coming up!

Redbacks were lucky to make the final anyway, since Christmas they've hardly managed to fire a shot, batting has been average and pulled a miracle out to make the final in the last round.

I want to see us being a side that knocks up 350-400 on a regular basis next season.

Not disagreeing BUT to be fair, HOW in the F*** could an umpire be sure that LBW met ALL the criteria needed? Spun back about 2 feet from outside off.
Hit him OUTSIDE off playing a shot. May have been too high and the amount that it spun may have even missed leg. It was simply a WILD GUESS at best by the ump. Just a JOKE to cop shit like that at this level.

The Shield Final is unecessary. Even more so now it needs to be played on some suburban cricket ground or in the middle of nowhere. Just award the Shield to 1st place after the regular season.
