With the time zone differences etc. they could have two matches on the same day to compact the season.

Maybe worth batting him a bit higher up the order?

Batting group was poor against the Duke balls. Individuals had moments after Christmas but didn't really nail too many games and opportunities given to them by our bowlers.

Carey must bat higher. Has the opportunity to play at Australian Level, can't have him being wasted down at 7,stuck batting with tail most games. Must bat in top 6 and give him every chance to perform. Wade and Neville bat 5 and he's a better bat then Wade.

Agreed. Safe to say Carey is now number three in the pecking order behind Wade and Nevill?

granted that i think carey is a much better batting option than Manou, however, if i recall correctly we went from 3rd the season to dead last with Manou trying to bat himself at 1,2 or 3 the following year ina bid to get a gig to the 2009 ashes. Hartley has still been able to make a shite load of runs from 7. whilst it would be great to see carey don the baggy green, he must bat where he fits in for the team and not in a position purely based on a bid to get him thrust into the Australian side

Having Mennie, Zampa, Sayers and whoever else as Jack I don't think our tail is too shabby, it's our top order that generally let us down.

Carey is one of Grade Crickets best opening batsmen. I'm sure his position at 7 is solely based on workload and not ability. Fair enough this season, why he finds his feet, batting at 7 is fine. But next season he deserves a promotion up the order, if it doesn't work, you lower him back down the order.
Hartley will be one of the best keepers never to have played for Australia, he batted at 7 and never got a gig.

he couldn't have done any worse than the efforts put out by our 3,4 and 5 lately

Agree that he's not deserving of a Test cap yet (Even if they have gifted out a few to others in recent times) but the duck in the 1st innings was the result of a SHITHOUSE LBW decision from a ball that spun about 2 feet out of the footmarks so pretty hard to be critical i would have thought.

Wasn't a great decision the LBW but from memory he made 1 run in last years final in the 2nd innings when the game was in the balance.
As Captain he needs to do more when it matters IMO.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Hartley has been the best gloveman in Australia for some time. Very much in the mould of a Steve Rixon, quality keeper and gritty bat (Hartley is a better bat though). Never had the profile of Brad Haddin, but could've ended up with an Ian Healy batting average and was always a far,far superior gloveman than Haddin.

O'Keefe fined $20k and suspended from whole 2017 Matador Cup for making highly inappropriate Alcohol fuelled comments at Cricket NSW function.
Would love to know what he said because that's a fair whack.
