Best team by far. Good to know SACA threatened Cameron Valente with no Shield Matches to get him to leave the Scorchers yesterday to be in the 12 for a Futures league match. He made roughly $20k by saying "no, my contract says so".
Disgrace by SACA. Similar to programming 2 games on Park 25 today. A B grade match and a U/14s.

Heard the same story about Valente today from his Grandpa. That is very ordinary by SACA, but very typical with their bullying! He had a contract with Scorchers which overrides his SACA one during Big Bash, simple as that!

Surely if this turns out to be true (I believe his Grandfather too) a little email to the ACA wouldn't hurt....

West Indies and Sydney Thunder allrounder waits for anti-doping verdict, which could mean a ban from the game.

Andre Russell’s fate is set to be revealed tomorrow when Jamaica’s Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel hands down its findings on an anti-doping charge that threatens the immediate playing future of the Sydney Thunder allrounder.

Pretty sure that's the first time "Jamaica" and "anti-doping" have been in the same sentence. :D

Veteran Adelaide Strikers batsman Brad Hodge has expressed interest in a move to Hobart Hurricanes to take on a potential player-coach role in next season's KFC Big Bash.

Hodge, who took newly-formed Indian Premier League franchise Gujarat Lions to the semi-finals last year and also mentored the CA XI during last summer's Matador One-Day Cup, has plied his trade for the past few seasons at the Strikers in the dual role of batsman and assistant coach.

And with the Hurricanes looking to fill the head coach position left vacant by Damien Wright, Hodge - who has played his last match at Adelaide - has thrown his hat in the ring.

Chris Lynn has undergone shoulder surgury and is in doubt of missing the big bash and most of the Australian summer. You'd hope it will end his injury woes, he just can't stay of the park!
