Oh well, onto the real stuff now!

Does Valente get a start straight up in the SS side? Outstanding LO series.

We needed 12 an over to get the double bonus point, Head was moving at above that.

I think this should be the side for the first game

Weatherald
K Smith
Ferguson
Head
Lehmann
Ross
Carey
Mennie
Zampa
Sayers
Worrall
Valente (12th)

Valente in for Ross if they feel they lack another bowler.

Pretty close I reckon. Heard couple of rumours, don't know if Ross will be fit, and heard Port been told Cooper not available for them, so based on that, swap Ross for Cooper. Don't need the extra bowler as Head will bowl if needed, so Valente misses. Strong bowling line up when Richo not in there either! Smith gets nod just over Raphael due to his double ton for Second X1, but ironic seeing Kelvin apparently burnt Raf by running him out in that game!

Comes out that because of the tie we actually only needed to beat Tas to make finals, didn't need a bonus point. Nobody including CA realised until after the game was concluded

Just read on line that they didn't need the bonus point after all, because the tie they had would have put them in front of Victoria and run-rate wouldn't have come into it. Some red faces down at the SACA if this is true.

Did CA not know? Or just not their place to explain the rules? Amazing no media person picked it up, but big oversight by SA. Lesson to learn, but never a good sign if at that level you make that sort of mistake to start with.

Unfortunately all it really does is confirm how seriously CA and the teams view this comp now. They couldn't give a rats. How on earth could a team not know exactly what kind of result it needed in it's last game to make the finals and seemingly the league was unaware too.

Bring back Chuck and then sack him again! ;)

TBH with the Shield game only a few days away I would rather we didn't play finals in this Como. The Shield is the most important thing to me.

I looked at the table to try and figure out the equation and thought I was stupid as I seen the cricket.com website suggested that they needed to obtain the double bonus point to get over the line.

I'm still struggling to understand this?? Looking at the points table it has the Redbacks on 12 points and the Vics on 16 points, and we had a rubbish NRR.

4x points for a win only, we would've finished on 16 points and our NRR was worse off.

Even if our NRR was to improve considerably, it would've only been a result of chasing the runs very quickly - like inside 40 overs!

Rule states that if two teams are tied on points it goes to Wins + Ties first, then NRR.

NSW are all over Queensland early (unfortunately lol). Queensland are currently 5/98.
Khawaja top scored so far with 35 (52)
Lyon has 3/6 off 8 overs with 2 maidens.
