I think I heard the commentators say he hasn't hit a test hundred in a year or something.

2nd innings of the Sydney test at the start of the year. Only has 2x 50's since then also

He cant win tho, Plays his natural game like he does in one day cricket and gets out you all yell at him, Plays within himself which clearly isn't his natural game and fails and he gets yelled at......

Not yelling just conversating. There's no way his spot is up for grabs anytime soon unless he dramatically keeps making low scores. Just needs to hang around a bit more. Opposing teams have worked him out now so he needs to be a little more smarter with his shots.

Can't look only at the numbers - have to look at how he's scored them, where he's scored them, and comparison to team mates.

He still made nearly 600 this year, and its the 2nd highest run scorer for Australia. The Aussies have only won 3 games this year as well.

Like I said. His spot is not up for grabs. Just his recent numbers don't look really exciting. But it is good to see Renshaw still sticking around and digging in. Show's fighting spirit. Something Australia really need.

Matt Renshaw is 10 runs away from averaging 100 in Test cricket

Whose numbers this year in the Australian side do look exciting?

And Renshaw brings up his fist test 50. Congrats bud. Knuckle down and let's push to your maiden test 100.

71 for Renshaw. Good hit out for him. Hopefully it's a start to a long opening career.

At least he got his gloves to it....... Wade wouldn't have got anywhere near it.

Another good thing about day/night tests is you can come home from work, crack a beer and sit down and watch the last session in full.

Mahommed Amir looks to have injured his knee while fielding. Big loss for them if he goes down for the series

I think there's a happy medium. Your natural game shouldn't be so narrow that it can't be adapted to the circumstances at least slightly. Having said that I reckon he'll make a big one this series.
