NZ 4/222

Latham 93*

Spinners coming into their own

Massive collapse for NZ as they lost 9/99!
Axar Patel, 5/62 from 34 overs, his 5th five wicket haul in 4 test matches this year.
Disappointing that Latham or Young didn't make a century.
India 1/14 in their second innings, Jamieson takes his 50th test match wicket playing in only his 9th test match.

NZ bowing up a storm here in India.

India 4/51, balls flying past the outside edge, keeping low. It's all over the place here.

Jamieson and Southee have hit good lines and Patel has one as well.

India recovered from 5/51 to declare on 7/234 to give NZ 284 to chase

With 4 overs to face til stumps, disaster struck NZ when Will Young was adjudged LBW off Ashwin to a ball that turned a mile and looked like missing leg stump by a mile. Umpire appeared to be pressured into giving it out after a prolonged shout. The 2 batsmen gathered together to have a chat but when Young finally signaled for a review he was informed time had expired. He was about 1 second too late
Ball tracking confirmed the ball would have been lucky to hit a 2nd set of stumps   such how sharply it turned. Just a massive cock up all round.

NZ 1/4 at stumps

I didn't see the end of play, sounds interesting.

Not unusual for Indians to appeal like that, that's how they are on the pitch. They have very aggressive appeals.

India deserved to win , but also should have won

Gutsy declaration on face value by India
Gave NZ a target of 284 and declared on day 4

In the end the game called off through bad light ?
All 5 days were stopped early because of bad light

QUESTIONS
Did they play extra time by starting earlier the following days ?
If not, why not ?

India v England, Second test
Kohli is back and after a delayed start due to rain he won the toss and India and batting.

They are currently 3/81 and have lost 3/0 as Ajaz Patel dismissed Gill for 44 then Pujara and Kohli for ducks!

Kohli reviewed his LBW decision and without any conclusive evidence that it was bat or pad first the decision remained as umpires call, his reaction to it remaining out was priceless!

Kane Williamson isn't playing because of his ongoing elbow injury and has been replaced by Daryl Mitchell.
India has 3 changes- Outs are Rahane (hamstring), Jadeja (arm) Ishant Sharma (dislocated finger). Replacing them are Kolhi, Jaynet Yadav and Siraj.

Rahane was really as good as dropped anyway as he us struggling for runs so I'm not sure about him being 'injured'.

India v NZ, stumps day one.
Latham wanted to keep bowling the quicks and the umpires deemed the light isn't good enough for that so stumps were called.
India finish at 4/221
Agarwal 120* (his 4th test match hundred)
Saha 25*
Ajaz Patel 4/73 from 29 overs with 10 Maidens.

Sri Lanka ended up defeating the West Indies by 164 runs, rolling the Windies for 132 in their second innings. They take the series 2-0.

I reckon the umpire who gave Kohli out (Anil Chaudhary) and the third umpire might not get to officiate in another test match after giving Kohli out hahaha.
