There were huge wraps on Rickelton to replace Markram in the lead up to this match, gone well for Northamptonshire in County cricket this year.

Markram dropped because he's been really struggling for runs and van der Dussen injured with a broken finger.

SA currently 7/99.
Jansen 30* and Maharaj 14*, they've put on 27 and Mulder and Jansen put on 36 to save SA from complete embarrassment.

All out 118. All results possible.

Sth African fielder Zondo (I think) claims a catch of a bumped ball.

2/84 at tea off 16 overs. Lights on and quite overcast.

Pretty sure England are incensed at the South Africans for not extending the test. Ball still doing a lot so this could change quickly with a couple of wickets.

Crawley went for 5. averages 26 . Think he will get dropped.

Bad light stopped play. Only 70 overs out of 98 achieved. On TV the lights looked good enough. An ESPN poster summed it up for me:

""the whole light problem could be solved by playing test matches in the cricket season, not the football season"

Yep.

Yep.
Technically it is still cricket season in England? April to September?

They keep backing him but he still continues to fail and the longer that goes on for then surely they have to drop him.

FMD Alex Lees dropped at fourth slip first ball.

MMMM.

Possibly over in 2 days, captain walks when not out, simple chance put down.

If Rabada bowls a no ball with the fourth ball of his second over I'm gunna be rich.

We are going to flog the Saffers when they come here. They are seriously average. Don't have one good batsman. The only one I rated was Markram who got dropped for scoring as badly as everyone else. Elgar has never looked likely for me and he's the best of the rest while Peterson makes Marcus Harris look good.

regards,

Loved seeing how quickly and well this aged ;) :D

Mind you, despite being a big Barmy Armier, I was afraid you were right at the time.

As it is, very happy to win six tests in a summer, including a series against the 'at-the-time' number one ranked side in the world
