I think youre all going a bit overboard with how much youre loving a pitch that's doing heaps. If every pitch was like that for a year or so and tests were over in 2 to 3 days you would all be lamenting that you dont see runs scored anymore.
I thought south africa bowlef poorly given the conditions. India shouldn't have got 100.
I hope the soth africans batting tonight proves me right and they get rolled for 73.

Haven’t watched much of this test - but I would say variety is what we want in pitches. And that’s definitely what has been lacking in Australia recently, with the exception of Adelaide

Absolutely, what i fail to see is how 3 day tests continuosly would offer that. All for these type of tests occasionally but it would become pretty boring if it became the norm.
I havent dseen any tyonight but judging by a few comments Indias are also bowling poorly in that they are bowling too short and the ball is doing too much with no hope of any batsman nicking it. Hang on gotta head to the BBL thread and bag Neser again

Ball bounce 3 inches more then it should have after hitting a crack, India want to call it off.
Seriously, how soft are batsmen. This is why we get MCG like pitches

Dean Elgar was hit at least 4 times that I viewed in the short South African 2nd dig
The umpires took the players from the field shortly before stumps to consider abandoning the match , play did not resume

Brodlach has mentioned the pitch was not as tricky as the first 2 days
Ive only seen day 4, and it was a very dangerous pitch safety wise

Common sense could prevail , and the umps could call off the game
However from an Indian perspective, hard for the umps to abandon the match now , after India batted twice on it

Im all for preparing bowler biased pitches , but this pitch is too heavily in favor of pace bowlers
Perhaps this pace bowling minefield is in retaliation ?
India prepared some spin bowling minefields when South Africa last toured India

I watched until tea and didn’t see them get taken off.

I thought the pitch was flattering out a bit, some balls taking off but others keeping low. One Rabada ball in the second session bounce twice after going past the batsman before getting to DeKock

Was afew that took off in the 1st session, one in fact took a chunk out of the wicket. Seems however the problem is only one end. Virat as much as i despise him showed his class in both innings on this deck to get behind the ball and fight it out
