Labiashagne doesn't look up to test standard. That was an awful shot

Because there's not much else at domestic level to choose from. Who do pick instead? Handscomb, Maxwell, Burns?

And Mitch is batting too high, he aint a number 4, leave him at 6 FFS.

If Paine breaks another finger Mong Darsh will be Australian Test Captain. I've been waking up in a cold sweat after having that nightmare. Would top off the farce that is the Marsh obsession.

Lose or draw its time to recognise Ussie Kahawaja's effort. An outstanding effort. Amazing. And shows he is up to the mental ability that is a Test match necessity.
This innings shows how good the pitch has lasted. Its also highlighted the diabolical effort of the first innings. No input whatsoever from 3, 4 and 6 in this game. Hopefully 7 to 11 offer the necessary grit in the remaining 31 overs.

And Tim Paine is repaying the faith the selectors had in him. Great calmness. Seems to be keeping the strike which is a Godsend (Allahsend!) for Ussie.

Surely Mitch and co can last 15 overs. If not they wld never be able to look Ussie in the eye again.

Tim Paine needs to see them home. Showing the strain.

Starc can play spin but is normally trying to clear the fence.

Not sure if he is a chucker.
