Ireland 6/191, trail by 161.
Tector (51) and Tucker (44) were batting well and had a good partnership of 63 but really Ireland are pushing shit uphill here.

Stokes is definitely not 100% fit as his troublesome left knee is still giving him grief, make me wonder if England's bowling attack can perform without him as the fifth bowler and Leach as the spinner trying to tie down an end, there's no way Australia will let Leach control the game and tie them down.

He hasn't actually announced his retirement officially though has he, just said when he'd like to finish. Although like Jim said it coulf be taken out of his hands if Broad keeps knocking him over cheaply and he loses his place n the team during the Ashes.
"You've got to score runs. I've always said the (2024) World Cup would probably be my final game," Warner said on Saturday.

"I probably owe it to myself and my family - if I can score runs here and continue to play back in Australia - I can definitely say I won't be playing that West Indies series.

"If I can get through this (WTC final and ensuing Ashes campaign) and make the Pakistan series I will definitely finish up then."

"I want to play that 2024 World Cup. It is something that is on the back of my mind. We've got a lot of cricket before that, and then I think it stops from February," said Warner.

"So for me, then I'll have to play IPL some of the other franchise leagues and then get into that rhythm to play in June.

"There will be a bit of cricket around to play. Who knows I might go back and play a Shield game for New South Wales."

West Indies are hosting India in a two test series, the first test started last night.
Ashwin is back in for India and took his 33rd five wicket haul (5/60 from 24.3 overs) as India rolled the Windies for 150 and are 0/80 at stumps.

It's a new look top order for India with young Indian star Jaiswal making his debut opening with Rohit, Gill is now batting at three after Pujara was not selected.

Well this will finish pretty quickly with an India win. 6 Windies wickets to get with 26 overs to go and plenty of runs in the bank and looking by how the pitch is now a raging turner, you'd think India were asked what sort of pitch they would like to play on. Ashwin and Jadeja running amok.

India won by an innings and 141 runs, Ashwin with 7/71 from 21.3 overs in the Windies second innings to take 12 for the match.

The pitches in the West Indies are just a disgrace. Have been for decades. 90% of Adelaides Parklands tracks would be of better standard.

Having said that it's the same for both teams and WI did have 1st use of it by winning the toss. The disparity in the score just show how low West Indies have sunk to. Could be record low Test match crowds in Australia this Summer

Ashwin dominating the match just continues to show how much of a joke it is that he wasn't selected for the WTC Final, how a team can leave out a cricketer that good is crazy https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/1st- ... ia-1387563

Just a pity that the leader for 5 wickets was not a bowler.

Given the ICC and its members have relegated Test below T20 then it is inevitable.

I find it more disturbing that we have abandoned our green and gold for blue for the non field uniform.
